What if Moon Clan is punishing me? What if they have abandoned me for wanting to change my mother's fate?

Cinder was up all night thinking, she didn't even get a wink of sleep. Her mother's death really devastated her. When dawn finally came through the den, its sunshine lighting up the den a little, she raised her head. Her eyes had bags under them from not getting sleep. She padded to the treatment den as she saw Star was there. "What did you want to talk about?" He asked, his face showing once again no emotion. "Could we go somewhere alone? Like the forest?" She asked. Star nodded, padding out as Cinder followed.

Star sat down by a large tree deep in Waterfall Tribe territory. "What is it?" He asked as Cinder sat beside her. "My mother's death." She meowed. Star went silent but she could feel his eyes on her. "I-I didn't get any sleep last night, Pebble did get sleep since she had Thrush to company her and tell her its alright and other nice words. I was just laying in my moss bedding, companied by no cat but myself." Cinder meowed, looking at the ground. "So you need some cat to talk to?" Star meowed. "Y-Yes, if you don't mind." Cinder meowed. Star shrugged, "Okay." He meowed. Was Star really going to let her talk about her mother's death? Cinder felt her heart warm slightly as she glanced at him. He blinked. "I-I miss her a lot, and I don't know what I would  do without her. I never knew my father that much, and I don't really care. When that tom attacked me he made me.." Cinder's voice trailed off like the wind. "He made you watch your mother die, didn't he?" Star meowed, his facial expression still emotionless. Cinder nodded, her body shaking as she remembered the scene unfold in her mind. "She glanced and smiled at me right before she died! She knew there was nothing I could do! She knew it! I saw it in her eyes, Star, I saw it!" Cinder meowed, her tears bursting out like endless waterfalls as her claws dug into the dirt. She hissed as she missed her mother. Star scooted closer to her, his tail softly rubbing her back to calm her down. "Maybe she did know. Don't worry, you can survive without her, she wouldn't have wanted you to hurt forever. I know she wouldn't." Star meowed, his voice changed from his normal voice to a soft, caring and truly loving voice. Cinder couldn't believe this was the same tom that forced her to explain the dream she had of her prophecy. "I shouldn't have gotten knocked over, I could have saved her in time." Cinder meowed. She was going to let her head rest on Star's shoulder but she was afraid he would pull away. "Don't say that. You did all you could, it was her fate. We nor Moon Tribe can change fate. We just have to deal with it and move on." Star meowed. Cinder knew that but she couldn't help but blame herself. She wished she could convince herself to move on but how? Talking to Star was helping but she felt like something major was missing. "Cinder, look at me." Star meowed softly. "You are a wonderful cat, stubborn or not. You were meant to be something great, every cat is. Don't doubt yourself. Don't loose belief in yourself. You will get through this." Star meowed. "I believe in you." He meowed, as Cinder looked up at him. He showed such affection in his eyes, that it was hard for Cinder not to want to curl beside him and sleep. She got to her paws. "Thanks, I just needed some cat to talk to. I'm going to go hunting." She meowed, her cheeks blushing a little. "No." He meowed simply as he got up. "Follow me." Star meowed. She tilted her head. "Why?" She meowed. "Just follow me." He meowed. They both padded to camp.

They padded into the trainee den. "Uhm, why are we back here?" Cinder asked. Star lay down in the soft moss bedding, leaving space for Cinder. "You said you could not sleep because you had no company, I'll be your company." He meowed. Pebble woke up, then looked at Star and Cinder. "Um, Star? Cinder? What?" Pebble meowed. Cinder blushed. "What's going on?" Thrush meowed. "I-I could not sleep last night because I had no company, so Star is going to sleep with me. Could you tell Sky that I won't be training today due to that?" Cinder asked. Pebble narrowed her eyes with a smirk. "Sure." She meowed. "I'm sure she knows treatment cats can't have mates." Star meowed, shrugging as Cinder lay down beside her. "You can rest your head on my shoulder if you want, you shouldn't be scared. I'm trying to help you recover mentally anyway." Star meowed. Cinder nodded. "I wasn't scared, I thought you would prefer I wouldn't rest my head on your shoulder." Cinder meowed, blushing as she looked down. Her blushing was not that visible but Star might have noticed them. "Sure you weren't afraid." Star meowed sarcastically. Cinder laughed a little as she would lay her head on his shoulder. "Thanks, Star." She meowed, feeling the warmth of his body soothed her mind at last. Star nodded, his purring making Cinder sleepy as she closed her eyes and fell asleep. Star fell asleep after her, their tails intertwined.

Cinder woke up to Puffin padding inside the den. Star was still sleeping soundly. "Star? Why is he asleep here and beside you?" Puffin meowed, her eyes narrowed. "Treatment cats can't have mates." She added. "He was helping me, I needed some cat to talk to about my mother's death and I wasn't able to sleep all night till Star helped me fall asleep after we talked." Cinder meowed. Puffin sighed, then nodded. "Fine, but be careful. Rumors might spread." She meowed before stalking out the den. Cinder and Star were the only cats in the trainee den, the others were going out training. She turned to the sleeping Star.

He looks so cute, like a kitten, when he sleeps. There is more to him that being grumpy and short tempered. He is a good listener.

Cinder loved the warm scent Star had, his black silky fur looked soft and is soft. Cinder realized now, she was in love and she wasn't ashamed of it. Now all she wanted to do was curl up next to Star and sleep. She stopped, he is a treatment cat, he can't have a mate or kits. But if he liked her back, she could just keep it a secret, the kits? Cinder was sure she wasn't going to have any and she would be careful. She smiled softly at him. "I am in love." She whispered to mainly herself. Star opened one eye. "Huh!" Cinder meowed, jumping up. "Did you say something?" He asked. "N-No! I was talking about how great the..wind was!" Cinder meowed. "Okay then." Star meowed, he got to his paws. "I should go back to the treatment den before Puffin bites my head off with how long I've been gone." Star purred. "Oh, she already came in." Cinder meowed. "Really? What did she say?" He asked. "She told me treatment cats can't have mates but I told her you were only helping me then she walked away. I think your good." She meowed. Star sighed. "She might give me a lecture over the treatment cat rules, well its worth it." He meowed. Did he just say that it was worth it? Basically meaning he liked that he got to spend time with her? Does he like her? Cinder let her thoughts buzz in her mind. "I should go, bye Cinder." He meowed, letting his tail touch her cheek as he padded out. Cinder watched him leave, she was really in love with him. She got to her paws, padding out. Sky was the first cat to rush to her. "Hey, I'm sorry about your mother's death. I was planning on you to skip training this day, and Pebble too but she doesn't seem as effected as you. In fact, she seems like it didn't happen at all." Sky meowed. What does she mean that Pebble didn't seem effected by it? "Of course she would, maybe she is just hiding it well." Cinder meowed. Sky shrugged. "Anyways, training will start again tomarrow." She meowed, Cinder nodded. "The battle was quick, thankfully." Sky meowed, before she padded off. Cinder watched her leave, standing there. Cinder still missed her mother, she always will. She couldn't stand the thought of cats just shrugging it off and move on with their lives completely. Was that what Pebble was doing? To forget? Or was it something else? Something behind this?

Cinder padded to the prey pile, getting a mouse. She carried it as she padded to the side of the trainee den, eating it.
