Thunder roared from above as rain pounded at the ground. Cinder woke up to the thunder, she was still in the medicine den. The soft moss beneath her paws. Puffin was sleeping a couple of mouse-lengths away from her. Star was no where to be seen though. It was night. Several moons had past since Cinder had found out she was expecting kits. While in that time, Cinder had told Star, Star, to her surprise, didn't seem to care much. In fact, he didn't seem to care much about her overall. Does Star not want anything to do with her now that she is expecting his kits? Cinder sighed, getting to her paws. She sat a couple of inches away from the exit of the herb den. She watched the rain pour down. The rain suddenly felt calming to Cinder. Though after moons, she hadn't heard from Eversky nor Moon Clan. Cinder started to wonder why Moon Clan and Eversky didn't talk to her since she discovered she will have kits soon. Cinder sighed. Cinder knew that she could give birth at any moment. Her swollen belly now very visible. She looked at the sleeping Puffin with worried eyes. Will her plan work? Did her sister change her mind? So many questions surrounded Cinder. She sighed.
It was the afternoon, the rain had stopped once more though clouds still hung into the sky. Cinder was laying in the moss inside the herb den. She was thankful that Puffin was sitting beside her as they chatted on about what Cinder could name her kits. "That honestly seems like a beautiful name." Cinder meowed. Puffin purred. "Yes, indeed it does." Puffin meowed. Suddenly, Star padded inside. "Theres no need to name it." He meowed. "Star? What do you mean?" Cinder asked, wondering why he was here. "There aren't going to be kits. Your not going to have them." He hissed. "Excuse me? I am the cat that's carrying the kits, I say what happens to them." Cinder meowed, hissing. "Doesn't matter, Cinder. We won't name them, what I say goes." He hissed. Puffin watched them, her pupils turned into slits as she seemed just as surprised as Cinder was by Star's sharp tone. "Star, what's gotten into you?" Puffin meowed. Cinder got up. "What do you mean there aren't going to be kits?" Cinder hissed. "What do I mean? What I mean is they will die! I'll rip them out of you myself." Star hissed. "Those kits will tear apart my herb cat position! And along with your clan position, Cinder. Don't you see?!" Star meowed, his claws digging into the ground. "Your going to rip them out of me?! I'd like to see you try! You wouldn't dare try to hurt your own blood!" Cinder meowed. Star raised a paw, claws out. "Watch me." He meowed. Puffin got in the middle of Cinder and Star. But right when Star was going to slash Cinder, Puffin got in the way. Star's claws raked down Puffins side, blood dripping. "Star!" Cinder hissed. Puffin yowled before hitting the ground with a thud. "Puffin are you okay?!" Cinder meowed. "I-I'm fine, just wounded." Puffin responded, getting to her paws once more. It was a small scratch luckily. "Star, what has gotten into you? You are not the cat I once met before. What happened to the love in your eyes?" Cinder meowed, looking into Star's eyes. There was no love in his eyes, nor trust, just coldness. "Love? Cinder, Cinder, there never was love in this. I never loved you, in fact, I've started to hate you and your kits." He responded, pushing Puffin aside. "What do you mean you never loved me?" Cinder meowed, her eyes wide. "You were so foolish, so naïve. You fell for it. Now look at you, stuck with kits. You certainly were mouse brained." He meowed. Cinder gasped as she felt her heart break in two. He never loved her, the only cat she loved was herself. It was all a lie. Every last one of it.
You lied to me! I trusted you!
"You lied to me?!" Cinder meowed, tears starting to drip. "It's not lying, it's just a way of living." Star meowed. A voice suddenly rang in her ear.
"The stars shall die by Cinder, as a new life awakes and the truth is revealed!" The voice hissed in her ear. "Y-You monster!" She hissed. Star smirked, turning his back on her. "Really? I'm the monster? Sure." Star shrugged, padding out the den. Cinder watched him leave. Puffin watched with her. "Cinder- I'm so sorry." Puffin meowed. Cinder felt rage bubble inside her. "It's fine, it's all fine." Cinder meowed. "Here, I'll get you a rabbit and we can talk about it." Puffin meowed, padding out. Cinder nodded. She watched Puffin exit. Star had lied to her, he never loved her all this time. It was all a lie. Cinder suddenly felt fur beside her, turning she saw..
