Regret is a hell of a thing.
Tyson regretted leaving that room. He even regretted leaving his house that day not too long ago, even though it seemed like a far away dream. That dreadful day filled with pain and adrenaline and pleasure. But even though there was pleasure he still regretted it. All of it.
As he stood in the circle of yelling vampires, staring at the tall blond boy, he regretted it all, even though he knew that these may be his last moments of his life and he shouldn't be regretting anything in his last minutes.
Ava was being held back by a tall, dark vampire with dreadlocks, screaming at the top of her lungs that he didn't need to do this, not yet! But he barely spared her a glance, afraid that he may get too sentimental and distracted because he knew he had to do this now or he may not be able to do it later.
He could hear Seth yelling something.
Tyson searched the room for him.
Not far away from him Seth stood, yelling, "Call on your wolf! Call on him to help you!" Tyson didn't know what Seth meant but he turned to the tall blonde who was glaring at him, teeth bared. While Tyson stared back he felt his upper and lower jaw sting like a horrible tooth ache had just set in. His hand flew up and felt his teeth. He pulled them down and looked at his bleeding thumbs from where his sharp canines had cut them.
The blonde vampires expression flicked to one of fear and Tyson let out a laugh, though he felt like it was probably just hysteria, and smiled, showing off his canines that were now covered in a thin blanket of poison.
The vampire charged.
Ava
"Let go of me you son of a bitch!" I struggled against the vice-like grip of the vampire. Tyson needed my help and I couldn't get to him which made me want to kill everyone in the room. Stopping my struggling, I began to think of how to get him off of me. Vampires can't go in the sun, even I know that. So I thought of the sun, closing my eyes. I thought of the heat waves, the kind that give you sunburns in the summer. My skin started to tingle and the vampire cried out and jumped away from me, clutching his now red, bare arms. Giving him an apologetic look, I stalked through the crowd towards Tyson.
They cleared the path for me. I knew they were just scared that their skin would melt off because they wouldn't let me through if they weren't in danger.
When I got to the outside of the ring the blonde vampire, that volunteered to fight Tyson, pounced. Tyson barely moved away in time to not be crushed by the vampire.
The vampire stumbled but spun on his heel and stalked towards Tyson again only this time when the vampire pounced, Tyson was late on his reaction and the vampire's claws sliced through Tyson's arm, making him cry out and leaving a brutal gash, dripping in blood. I felt like I was about to hurl, I had to do something.
I started to think of the sun again only not so much the heat, mostly the rays so it would reach Tyson. A hand landed on my shoulder, breaking my concentration. I turned towards the hand.
It was Seth, looking down on me with those menacing forest green eyes. "Don't. You can't help him. For him to complete the transition he must kill his enemy by himself, " he said, glancing at Tyson and the vampire. The vampire was leaping and stumbling when Tyson darted away from his blows.
I knew Seth was right. Tyson either dies from this or I could put my faith in him and hope he survives this on his own or I could help him, only for him to die tomorrow night all because of me. Nodding to Seth, I picked or number two. Put my faith in him and hope for the best.
