Heir to the throne. Queen. Royalty. Kingdom.
Even just trying out the words in my head sounded weird. I didn't want that responsibility, I didn't know what came over me when I took the responsibility.
Maybe now that I was back at my grandma's house I could go to sleep, again, and clear my mind. Put all my problems in a box in the back of my head and stuff it away for later. They would be there when I came back.
It was disappointing when we were met by Seth at the front steps, looking not impressed at all. I couldn't help but smile, the feeling of making Seth angry was always funny and made me feel accomplished. But then I knew that he had something that would make me angry also.
"What? We're going back to the penthouses now?" my words came out as a plead. Like I was saying, not yet or please say no, like a child. I had enough anger in me right then that I could have obliterated him but I knew I would regret it later and also, Emma walked out of the house at that moment.
"Yes, Ava. I am. So are you and pretty boy," Emma smiled and patted the bag resting on her hip, "I have enough clothes for a week or so for you, so jump in the car and lets get going." she seemed really enthusiastic, like she was really glad about something, like she had figured out something that made her not want to contain that happiness. I squinted my eyes and then sighed, Seth folding his arms triumphantly.
"Fine," I threw my arms in the air, "Tyson, you go get in the car. I'm gonna go say bye to my mom and grandma." I started to step up the stairs but Seth jumped in my way.
"I wouldn't recommend that," he warned, his face serious. Seth was rarely serious, even I knew that, maybe I should have listened to him. But, of course, I didn't.
My shoulder shoved into his, knocking him back as I took a step forward and instantly regretted it. My face smashed into an invisible wall and it flew me backwards, my face burning like it was on fire. I screamed in pain and suddenly, Tyson's hands were on me and the pain slowed to a dim warmth.
"I said I wouldn't recommend that," Seth said, standing over me. I knew it was him because of the way he moved and the way he stood, despite my blurred vision. Emma's figure came and stood over me also, her blond hair a halo now brightened by the moon.
"Are you alright?" Tyson and Emma asked me at the same time. My eyes blinked a couple times and my vision cleared up. Seth shook his head and left my view, towards the car I was guessing because the car revved up not long after. When I sat up a wave of dizziness passed over me, causing me to lean against Tyson for support.
"Yeah, I think so," I said and moved to get up, "Help me up." hands gripped my upper arms and pulled me into a standing position. As soon as I was on my feet, Emma let go and walked to the car and jumped in the passenger seat. Tyson's hand hovered against my back, just in case I decided I couldn't stand again. I laughed, a little hysterical, "I'm fine, really. What was that?"
Tyson shrugged and ignored my 'I'm fine' comment and helped me over to the car and into the back seat. As soon as I seemed well enough and settled in he shut the door and went around to get in beside me.
"It was the protection spell that your grandmother put up yesterday. Once you leave, you can't come back in without permission,"Seth said, making it was obvious that he was listening in on our conversation. I rolled my eyes and leaned against Tyson's shoulder.
He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and kissed the top of my head. I smiled to myself and burrowed into his broad chest. He seemed more fit than before. I always remembered him as that lanky boy but I hadn't realized that he had changed.
