This was amazing. This night. Her. Everything. Nothing could ruin it because he wouldn't let anything. He may have been only seventeen but, you know what, he didn't care. He was ready to tie himself to her in every way supernaturally possible.

The people around them roared in happiness. Clapping, cheering and chanting. A group of boys were chanting 'kiss her, kiss her' so he did. He held her close to him as their lips met and he didn't ever want to let go. He would never let go.

As there lips met he felt fire everywhere her skin touched his. There lips parted in sync but he had to pull away. Too soon, he thought. He needed her.

"Everyone's watching," Tyson whispered and for the first time she pried her eyes away from him and looked around the room, as if just realizing they were in such a populated place. She turned back to him and smiled. That smile. That smile would brighten his darkest days. That smile would force him out of a storm. That smile was something he wanted to see for the rest of his life. So he would.

"Then we better go somewhere else," Ava said, standing up, a smile plastered on her face. Tyson narrowed his eyes at her and she just shrugged, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

She dragged him out of the store, stopping only to drop off the check that Kai had given him. The cold, night air bit at his skin but at least it cooled down his nerves. His palms were sweaty, shaking and his stomach was in a knot. He took a deep breath as they jumped in the car; Ava starting it and pulling out of the driveway.

"Where are we going?" he asked finally studying their surroundings instead of watching Ava. She glanced at him as she took a turn into a dark alley. One lamp post stood on an old abandoned street at the end of the alley. Tyson knew this alley and he hated it.

Suddenly there was ringing in his ears and his hands gripped the arm rests tightly. He tried to speak but nothing would come out. Flashes of memory appeared as he closed his eyes. Blood. Pain. Pleasure. Pitch black. Foam. Dead. Wolf.

"Ava!" he yelled finally and she stomped on the breaks, the seat belt tightening around his torso as it flung him forward, his head almost hitting the dash. He could hear his ragged breaths in his ears, he could hear his heartbeat. To fast, he thought, his heartbeat was too fast.

"What?" Ava said, looking confused and worried, "What's wrong?" He didn't answer because he smelled something. A familiar something. His instincts told him it wasn't good because he could smell blood too. Tyson looked up at Ava. On her left eyebrow, sliced through like a cat had done it, was a small, but clearly deep, cut. It oozed out blood and he was worried. He didn't have a problem with blood but, a Night Child did. And he could smell that too.

His hand flew to the door and he quickly locked it and then turned back to Ava, still not saying a word. Ava wasn't worried anymore, she was pissed. He wasn't explaining anything to her so she was just getting angrier and angrier.

"Tell me what the hell is wrong with you before I-" Tyson cut her off, shushing her. She went quiet as he looked around them. He couldn't see anything, but he could feel it and he could smell it. It was a Night Child and, really, locked doors wouldn't stop them from getting in.

"Before, it was because this is the place I got bit," Tyson whispered, still searching. Ava's eyes went wide, "Now...I smell....vampire." Ava looked around them and Tyson knew that she smelled it too, by the way she wrinkled her nose.

"We have to go," she said, reaching for her door. Tyson stopped her by putting a hand on her shoulder. Her eyes met his as he shook his head once. No.

"We don't know how many there will be. We don't want to be outnumbered," he said and Ava nodded her head, sitting back in her seat. Tyson shook his head, thinking, analyzing, preparing. His eyes shot up all of a sudden and he said, "No, we have to go out. They'll expect us to stay in the car. We have to get out." Tyson quickly unlocked the door and jumped out.
