I woke up with my back aching and my head hurting. Everything, basically, just hurt. And when I sat up I knew why. Everything that happened flooded back into my mind.

The meeting.

Seth at the depot.

And then me getting kidnapped.

I jerked my head around, I was in a dark room, or more like a cell, but the light from the moon shone through a tiny barred window, the ground and walls were cement and an iron door was set into the corner of the room, a tiny window at the top. I was on a bed with a very thin blanket and a springy mattress, which explained my back hurting. Beside the head of the bed was a table  with a tray of some delicious smelling food on it.

As I leaned closer to the food I recognized it.

Tacos.

And still warm.

I devoured it, not even stopping to think. As far as I knew, it could have been poisoned but it sure didn't taste poisonous. It tasted like heaved wrapped in a soft tortilla.

"I thought you'd be hungry."

I choked on my food, looking up to where the husky voice came from. Surprise wasn't the only thing that ran through me, there was recognition.

It was the same vampire that held me back during the fight, the one who ran for new leader. What was his name?..

"I haven't properly introduced myself," the vampire stepped forward, the scar on his face now very obvious because of the moonlight, "Zachariah," he held out his hand but very slowly put it down when I ignored it. "I'm not here to hurt you."

"Where the hell am I," I asked, glaring at him.

"Well, actually, we are 35 ft under Starbucks," he smiled.

"Under?

"Under."

"Why am I here? What do you want from me?"

"You are here because... we need your help."

"There is no way in hell I am helping you."

"Just hear me out, okay? If you still don't want to help us afterwards then you can walk away and forget about us." I just nodded.

"Okay, you obviously know about Seth plans, right?" I hesitated, I didn't know if I should tell him, he could have been a spy for Seth but for some reason I felt like I could trust him.

"Yes..." I dragged out the word, making Zachariah sigh.

"Seth leads the Chicago Night Children but I have been building up a secret clan to overthrow him." said Zachariah.

"Why are you telling me this?" I asked.

"I'm getting to that. I started this when Seth first found out about your blood. He knew your power and he wanted it."

"Okay, I know I'm a witch and all but so is Emma."

"Oh, but you are a special little witch. Never in the history that I know has there ever been a female wolf born and witch combined, especially with the power your witch bloodline has. With training, you could become the most powerful supernatural being in the world, me and my clan don't think what Seth is doing is right and we would rather have you as a friend than an enemy."

"Okay, well how would I help you?"

"Well, that little necklace you wear around your neck is not just a inside-your-head theater. You can travel back in time with it, live it yourself. Only, a witch has never been able to do it, they either drain their powers and die or they give up. You have that power, Ava. We believe you can do it."
