The meeting room was clear except for one table at the far end of the room and the stand at the front. The table was supposed to hold a lot of paper and two boxes labeled: Seth and Zachariah. Each box for each person.
"Everyone line up! You will write who you want to be the new leader and then slip the paper into the labeled box, you each get one vote! One." Seth yelled over the crowd of vampires, who instantly got in a very crowded line that was really just a squished version of the crowd before.
Emma took her place behind the table, making room for Seth to stand beside her. Seth took his place and gave a pen to the fist vampire, which happened to be Veronica. She wrote a quick word and slipped it into Seth's box. He knew she was going to vote for him, she was loyal and understanding. Next, was Seth's second in command, Darrel. The ginger was most important in meetings, he had the best insight, in Seth's opinion.
Darrel wrote out the name so big it filled the paper and then he made a show at putting the paper in the box before Seth shooed him away but he was grinning from ear to ear.
Time flew by, everyone that was done with the vote went back to their rooms except for Darrel because Ava and Tyson were currently occupying his room. So he waited patiently beside Seth.
Soon enough there were only ten people left, all ten voting for Zachariah.
Seth didn't think he wanted the clan this bad but it wasn't that he wanted it, it was that he needed it. The group was like a family to him, it grounded him, it kept him in check, and Seth hadn't even had a family before this. Seth wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them. He would have followed Emma when she died if his family wasn't there for him.
"You should call another meeting," Emma started, bringing him back to the present, "But this time let me speak first." Seth smiled. He was always proud of Emma when she got the hang of things and took over.
"I will." Seth answered but didn't move.
"Like, now." She said like it was obvious. Seth glanced at Darrel who was testing the club and then groaning when he noticed the huge dent in the stand. Seth couldn't help but laugh. He turned back to Emma who was staring at him expectantly.
"Make sure he doesn't get into any trouble. I'll be gone for ten minutes, tops." Seth said, pointing at Darrel.
"Hey, what trouble can I get into in ten minutes, Seth. Ten minutes!" Darrel yelled, throwing his arms in the air as Seth walked out of the room, ignoring him and mouthing the words 'keep him in check' to Emma, who smiled and nodded. With one last glance at the room, Seth left to call a meeting.
That was the last straw for him.
If he lost the vote and the clan turned on him he couldn't go on. He wouldn't go on.
No matter what it took, he would get them back.
Tyson
Ava had fallen asleep in Tyson's arms. It wasn't that he was bothered by it, it was he was bothered by the fact that he wasn't bothered at all. And he was bothered that he kept using the word bothered. He rolled his eyes at himself since nobody else was in the room that was awake.
Ava stirred but didn't wake and Tyson started to wonder what they were. He told her he loved her but maybe she thought it was in a friend was or he pitied her. He thought that if a stranger were to look at them then they would assume that they were together. Hell, he like to think they were together.
Tyson slowly started to push Ava off of him, scooting closer and closer to the edge of the bed. He rolled off the bed, making his arms sting from the impact but when he looked up Ava was still sound asleep. He sighed and got up, walking to the door and picking up a potato chip bag that Ava had dropped earlier.
