Two hours.

Two hours of waiting. Two hours of blinding anticipation. Two hours until this would all end. But would it really matter if it ended?

The skyscraper was growing in the distance and there were only two hours until Seth and his Night Children would attack Ava's group, the rebellion. Darrel sat in the passenger seat, still silent after he saw what Seth had done to Damon. Seth had a nagging feeling in his gut that something was wrong. He had to get to the skyscraper.

"Are you still mad at me?" Seth asked, rolling his eyes. He had no reason to be mad. Seth had it all planned out and they would never see it coming. It was perfect.

"Damn right I am," Darrel snapped, "We could have avoided a war, avoided a chance at death but, no, you had to go all crazy and kill our only chance at that, so, thanks a lot." Darrel snapped his attention to Seth, "When we enter that field, we all have a chance at dying. What if they see us before we get there? Ava's a strong witch, she could have put up a protection spell or something. We could all die, Seth. Every single one of us."

Seth sighed, "I told you, I have it all planned out. They think we want a truce and I know they won't take it, they'll think it's a trap. Then, we'll attack when they are sleeping. It's perfect." Darrel went silent and Seth gave up. Darrel used to be the type that didn't care about death, he didn't care whether he made it out of not. Now, he had something to come back to. Well, someone. Seth pulled into the parking lot and put the car in park, jumping out.

As soon as he was out, Seth turned to Darrel. He didn't spare him a glance, disappearing into the building. Seth wondered if Veronica was still here, maybe that's why he was leaving so fast. To get to her.

Seth smiled to himself. He should be rushing to see Emma. She would be waiting for him in their room, waiting for information. He had told her some of the details, but not that much, while on the phone. But something inside of him told him to stall. To wait to go up there because he would hate what he would find.

Since he was a leader, he didn't get the luxury of stalling. He had to deal with things the hard way and right when it occurred.

He entered the building, his eyes adjusting to the little light that was in the room. He went straight for the elevator and jammed the buttons. Seth remembered when he had broken these elevator doors to get out. Good thing it was fixed because otherwise Seth would have to take the long stairs.

The doors slid closed and the elevator slowly started to move up. Seth could imagine the chains pulling him up. He could also imagine them breaking and him plummeting to the ground to be crushed. He probably wouldn't die but it would probably hurt like hell.

He strained his ears to hear far above him, in the penthouse. Before Emma had turned into one of the Night Children he would search for the only heartbeat in the building but now, she didn't have a heartbeat either. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. Seth kept forgetting that she wasn't the same anymore.

But neither was he.

The door slid open and he stepped out, starting to walk down the hallways. "Seth!" a voice called from behind him. He sighed and clenched his jaw, slowly turning around to see Jax's face, his best guard.

"What is it?" he snapped, annoyed. He had to get to his room. Something was wrong and he felt something that pulled him to his room.

"I was wondering what the plan is. Darrel wouldn't tell me, he just asked for Veronica and then stormed off, telling me to ask you," He answered, his eyes showing respect. Seth sighed again and relaxed some.
