Chapter 10

One by one, several participants made it to the bottom of the tower... but not my boys. It's almost the end of the 72 hours and not one of them have made it this far. I found that very odd. They're all talented so I figured that they would be one of the first ones to finish.

"Hisoka... do you think Gon and the others will get here in time? They only have three minutes." I looked at Hisoka but he didn't answer. He just continued to rest his eyes and smile. "Answer me Hisoka." I sat over him and got right in his face. I heard a gasp from the other participants and the strange guy with needles in his face was eyeing me. They all acted like I would be killed by the magician or something. "Well? Do you? Please say you do." I slumped over and hid my face in his shoulder. "Dammit why won't you answer?-"

"Kurapika, #404 is the 20th to pass. Killua, #99 is the 21st to pass. Gon, #405 is the 22nd to pass. Time elapsed: 71 hours and 59 minutes." (A/N: I'm completely aware that by adding this new character their placements should be shifted over one but I decided not to do that and left them as is.)

"Boy my butt hurts! I certainly wasn't expecting the short and easy path to be a slide." I jerked my head up to see most of my boys in the doorway.

"Kura! Gon! Killua!" I ran up and hugged them all. "You're here! But where is Leorio?"

"Leorio, #403 is the 23rd to pass. Tonpa, #16 is the 24th to pass. Time elapsed: 71 hours and 59 minutes." Both men came through the entrance trying to push each other over.

"Leorio!" I giggled and hugged him too. "I'm glad you all made it!"

"Don't I get a hug too?" Asked Tonpa.

"No, sorry about that. Hisoka told me all about you and your attempt to sabotage me before the first phase. Oh! And he wanted me to tell you something but I forgot all about it."

"Oh yeah what did he want you to tell me?" I could see him break into a cold sweat.

"He said, 'try anything again and I'll kill you.' but I'm sure he was only kidding." I said in my best Hisoka impression. Tonpa just about choked on air.

"So you know Hisoka, Angel?" Gon asked me. He seemed a little bit more serious than usual.

"I guess so." I started walking away.

"How did you meet?" Killua asked. Now I'm suspicious. Do they all know? Well obviously Kurapika doesn't or he would have tried to kill me already.

I started walking to the exit that lead outside. "It was a while back. Come on let's go!"

"That wasn't what I- oh never mind." I glanced back to see Leorio, Gon, and Killua exchange looks.

'So they do know! All three of them!' I felt a little nervous. 'Do they hate me now?' I decided not to worry too much about it. If they want to know then I guess I'll tell them. After all it's not like I can't tell them I just didn't want to.

The examiner showed us to a small box. He told us to grab a card in the order that we finished the third phase. Hisoka went first of course and then I grabbed a card. "Wow! Angel you came in second place?! Amazing!" Gon cooed. My mind eased a bit knowing that he wasn't ostracizing me now.

Everyone finished grabbing their cards and awaited the examiners orders. "Now peel off the sticker. That's who you'll be hunting." I looked at the number I was given: 198

'That's easy! He's one of the three cocky brothers who wears red, right?'

I had taken the liberty to memorize everyone's number while we were waiting in the last phase. Out of the corner of my eye I saw some guy staring at me. I assume that I'm his target judging by the way he was looking at me. Creepy. I mean he himself doesn't look all that daunting. He is number 89. He wears a long sleeve yellow shirt with a brown vest over it.

'Hm. He doesn't look like much of a challenge but I should be careful anyway.'

We all piled onto a boat and prepared for a two hour trip to the island. "Hey Angel! Aren't you gonna take off your number badge?"

"No Gon, I'm not. And besides," I looked across the deck to see #89 still looking at me. "He already knows who I am."

The two boys I am talking to followed my eyes and saw who I was pointing at. "Hey, we want to ask you something." Killua asked in a serious tone.

"What is it?"

"Are you... a member of the phantom troupe?"

My eye twitched and I looked away from the boys to think. "...Yes I am." They both gasped. "There's no reason in lying about it now because I wouldn't want you guys to not trust me." I looked into their eyes. Both showed a gleam of anger and fear but that look didn't last long. "Don't worry though. I'm not here to harm anyone. Just trust me."

I smiled at the boys. "Okay. We'll trust you Angel."

"Thanks Gon. I appreciate it but one more thing," I looked at them seriously. "Whatever you do, don't tell Kurapika."

They nod their heads. "Oh! Since you know Hisoka, can you tell me how to steal his badge?"

I looked at the green haired boy in surprise. "You mean to tell me you drew Hisoka's number? You have terrible luck."

"Hahaha that's what I said." Killua jokes and Gon hits him over the head.

"Um well... to be completely honest Hisoka will probably sit around for most of this week. If you've been watching him then you should know that by now. He's pretty confident in his abilities. Finding Hisoka shouldn't be too difficult because he'll probably just sit out in the open, after all who would try to steal his badge." I paused for a second. "If I told you anymore than that I don't think it would be too fair."

"Thanks Angel! That was helpful!"

"I'm glad I could be helpful-"

"Hey Angel."

"Yeah Killua?"

"If you're a member of the phantom troupe then why are you so nice? I don't get it."

I smiled at the boy. "I don't know. In my own opinion... most of the members are more caring than I am."

The boat docked at the port. "You will each step onto the island 2 minutes apart. The first person who finished the last phase may go." The attend called in her happiest tone.

Hisoka stopped in front of me before leaving. "You're on your own little Angel."

"Yeah okay. You know I'll be fine anyway." I folded my arms.

"Ha ha ha. Alright." He left the boat and disappeared into the forest.

Soon after, I stepped onto the island as well. I decided to hide in the center of the island. "Okay... let's see what happens."
