It took three days for #89 to find me. I haven't bothered hunting for my target yet because I'm pretty sure I can get his badge easily so instead I have gathered a whole bunch of fruits and foods I could eat while I am here.
I was sitting up in a tree when I sensed something fly at me so I jumped out of the tree but I wasn't able to dodge it completely. A strand of my hair was cut shorter than the rest.
'Ah! That hurts like a bitch!' I tried to not make it obvious that I was about to cry and double over from pain.
"You're pretty quick on your feet huh?" A thick male voice chuckled. "I'm surprised you dodged that."
I immediately recognized him. "Hello #89. Pleasure to meet you finally. I guess you drew my number, huh?" He nodded his head and lunged at me.
"I will get your badge and pass this exam! I'll kill you if I have to!" The knife he was swinging at me looked unusually shiny and had a slight purple tint over it.
I swiftly moved to avoid his nonstop attacks. "I'm guessing that you use chemicals that paralyzes your opponent?" He froze for a fraction of a second out of shock, plenty of time to take away the knife. Judging by the fact that he shot something at me earlier and used a knife now, he probably has several types of weapons on him so I can't get careless.
He pulled out another knife and swung at me. I was getting tired of dodging so I cut him on the cheek with the knife I grabbed away from him. He fell to the ground soon. "Damn... you. I'll never forgive yo-" He stopped talking.
I turned him over so I could grab his number, just in case, and then I drug him away from my campsite but something felt off. He was unusually quiet. I pulled his chest closer to my face and I realized that I couldn't hear a heartbeat. I checked his pulse but nothing. I slapped his face a couple of times to see if he would wake up but he didn't. "I just thought it was I paralyzing agent. I didn't think it would kill him." And then it dawned on me. "He tried to kill me! If I had let that cut me at all then I would have died!"
After a while of pouting, I dig a grave for the man. I took some berries and made a sort of paint so I could write a gravestone. "#89" was all it read.
I went to bed but I still couldn't sleep too well. I knew that his death wasn't completely my fault but he died because of me. Maybe tomorrow will be different.

Today's the day that I find my target. I know what he looks like so it shouldn't be too much of a challenge. I hopped out of my tree and visited #89's grave. I said a quick prayer in hopes that the forest would watch over him until the examiners got him.
I aimlessly wondered around in the dark part of the forest until I saw Killua throwing a couple number badges of the cocky brothers. Someone ran after the first badge he threw so I took my chances and ran after the second badge. When I finally caught it, I realized that luck wasn't on my side and I grabbed #197's badge instead. Luckily the other person most likely grabbed the wrong badge too.
I raced through the forest in search of the participant with my target's badge. To my surprise I found Hanzo, the ninja, and all fours grieving over his failed attempt.
"Um... hey." He jumped up and immediately straighten himself up.
"So you're the one who drew my number. Just so you know, I won't go easy on yo-"
"No."
"No?"
"I didn't draw your number. Actually I'm pretty sure you have my target's number and I have yours." I playfully giggle and show him the badge.
