For instance, if they goes to a major place, like a museum, or a beach, make sure it's an actual place. Unless you wanna make your own place, but some readers get offended when you get something wrong.
For example, if you say Texans ride horses to school, we will get offended because we don't, and some will get on your behind about it, others will roll their eyes.

So please, do ur research, if it's in the past, research that, if it's about a topic you think someone might get heated about you getting wrong, maybe just look up a small thing about it, or briskly brush past the topic.
Maybe they're related to one of the avengers— even tho that's literally almost every book — or maybe there past is affected by the MCU timeline.
Anyways, in one of my books which I want to post but these things take time, (and so help me if you steal my idea of oc or anything of the sort I will fill your sinuses with urine and turn your rib cage inside out), the girl comes from WWII. This is not because she connects to Caps timeline, because she doesn't; she barley even has a concern about America or a star-spangled-banner-buff-boy who barley missed her, because she skims his time by a mere year. (I claim copy right. Don't steal it)
Lemme tell you!!! This required so much research over both world history and the MCU history, because I had to make sure and double check she wouldn't cross lines with anything, and I wouldn't be crossing our world with the MCU.
