Anyways, this'll be short.
I feel like I've covered all that I could have but here's just some things I know I hate and love.
1) everyone uses Gwen and MJ and honestly I'm kinda sick of it. I want Ocs. It's fun, it's new, it's original. We don't write to be the same as everyone else, we don't want to have the same characters, either.
2) some books I've read have portrayed Peter Parker as a shy helpless boy, to timid to even ask for a pencil. Next thing I know, I'm reading about him walking home when he stumbles across something, and all the sudden he's a bad ass?! He's not even in the suit yet, and even with it, we all can be shy. (If you chose to portray Peter in such a way, stick to it, and make sure you don't go over board with it.)
3) I've made a chapter which went over this but let's underline, italicize, and bold it. No instant romance. People will start out their book with Oc already head over heals and let me tell you, if I had a movie about me it be about how many times I've stubbed my toe (the last two times they've been stubbed by a dumbbell and air filter which caused me to bleed) and how I woke up tired and can't even function— not about how I'm in love with someone and they're my biggest crush ever.
Save your romance, flourish your friendship. This makes it special and more happy when they do become awkward and cute.
4) removing Liz.
She's a character too, guys. I know she gets in the way of your OCs love life that's moving to fast for Usain Bolt to keep up with, but keep her in there. Don't make OC hate her, don't make Peter not like her. Because he did, and it played a part in this movie, therefore we respect it.
So don't remove her. It's like me removing your nose. You don't want that. So don't do it.
5) functioning morning people.
I can barley get out of bed make them tired not everyone's had their cup of coffee or are a bright sunshine form jimmy dean.
