It happens; we get stuck. But this is more than stuck, this is complete and utter confusion. This is a black abyss which really, really sucks. You can't get past it, and deleting everything will only slow your momentum. Then in the end, you finish where you started.

So, what do you do?

Well, that depends on your current plot point or situation. Are you achieving some sort of goal? Is the character in a fight? Are they in love? Think of that real quick, then identify what you feel you should do.

Pick a feeling/broad action:

-Annoyance, Anger, Sadness, Betrayal, Fear, Stress, Surprise, Choice, Giving up.

Now act with that. If you need help, here are some defined actions you could use.

Annoyance
-kissing the wrong person
-make the villain win
-push back their progress. Maybe they got a clue wrong, but let the readers know, and not the character
-embarrass your character

Anger
-friend spoils secret
-parents yell at the character
-kidnap someone
-fake kidnap someone

Sadness
-death of a character.
-close death/severe injury
-interest/friend abandons them
-parents break up

Betrayal
-friend spoils secret
-someone spoils them to the enemy
-friend/family member leaves
-cheating

Fear
-shot a character
-threaten a character
-kidnap a character
-put a characters life on the line

Stress
-big test
-someone's life is in there hands
-proving ones self
-walking on thin ice with someone

Surprise
-shoot a character
-kill a character
-disappearance of character
-random answer from the past
-random person from the past
-etc.

Choice
-friend or friend (family, love interest, stranger)
-loose powers or get tested on
-save someone or kill themselves
-use powers and get exposed or don't and get hurt
-etc.

Giving up
-villain with a knife to throat (gun, bow, etc)
-too much strain or stress
-lost everything
-never had anything and has nothing to loose
-etc.

Apply these to your book, change something up, make your readers second guess your next mood. They should never know what you'll do next (despite foreshadowing, which should be a tad bit vague). Don't give up on your book, if you need to, you can watch other movies and see what they do, see how characters act when facing a problem. It's never bad to use other things as inspiration.
