On a hot day of summer, a mouse was searching for some water. After walking around for a few hours, he finally came near a river. Desperate to quench his thirst, he climbed up on a small rock. While trying to drink the water, he slipped and fell into the river.
There was a cat sitting on a branch of a tree who saw the mouse falling into the river. As fast as the cat could, he quickly jumped to save the struggling mouse. The mouse moved towards the cat and climbed up onto it. Soon, they landed safely to the dry ground, and the mouse jumped out. He looked up and thanked the cat.
Later, the same day, a short-tempered dog was looking anxiously at the cat. The mouse saw him and guessed what he was about to do. The cat was resting and he had no idea that the place he is lying at is the self-proclaimed territory of the dog. The mouse quickly bit his hind legs. Feeling the pain, the dog moved backwards and let out a heavy scream. The cat noticed it and quickly ran away.
Moral: If you do good, good will come to you. One good turn deserves another.
