Weeks have passed since then and I've been learning how to use the books I've bought. They were surprisingly easier to use, unlike the Thoron book I had. One thing I notice is that the writing within the books was slowly fading. Much to my surprise, the Thunder book no longer had anything written in it.
I spoke to the professors about this as they were surprised as well. Ozpin came to the conclusion that multiple uses must've used the writing in order to cast the spells. I kept track on the Fire book and sure enough, every time I use it, the words would fade. The books were pretty much useless when they no longer have the writing within and are only a simple blank book.
The next day, Glynda and I headed out again along with the books. I stayed close and held onto her hand as we walk down the streets. Soon, we arrived at Tukson's and entered. The first thing we noticed was Tukson speaking to a red-haired woman before he saw us enter.
"Ah. Welcome to Tukson's Book Trade." He greeted like before. "I'll be with you in a minute."
"I guess we can look around while we wait." I suggested.
"All right. But don't forget what we're here for." She reminded.
I walked to the bookshelves and started picking out some books that caught my attention. Reading the front covers before placing them back. I glanced over to the woman as she talked to Tukson with a sly smile. I didn't want to eavesdrop on their conversation, but I was close enough to hear them.
"Aw, come on. Can't you give a little more for these?" The woman said, motioning to the books she had with a finger on her cheek.
"Sorry, I can only trade a few. And those books hardly ever get picked." Tukson apologizes.
"Hm... Well, it's not like I'm going to give these for less than an equal amount." She got out. "I mean, the books I have are quite valuable here than from where I come from."
"Look, I've only got them sold once and most could barely read them. I can't guarantee that they could even be worth more than the average book here."
"I'll have you know that the books you claim to have cost less than its worth are something that has been used by great scholars and sages. Do you have any idea how long one it takes to make one? Unlike here where a lot of books are printed and mass-produced, these ones are made by hand!" The woman exclaimed. "And these ones I have are high-grade Tomes! People who study in these arts would go through many days of no sleep just to have a chance of using these!"
My eyes lit up hearing what the woman said. Perhaps she could clue me in on what those books were.
"That's great and all. But no one seems to take interest in them here." Tukson spoke before noticing me. "Well... Except for her."
The woman swiftly turned her attention to me as I stood there with the books that I brought in my arms. A small shine twinkled in her eye like she was a hawk who caught sight of its prey. She suddenly rushed towards me and bend down to my height, surprising me with her blinding movements.
"Hello, there~." She said in a cheerful tone. "So I've heard you've bought some books from Tukson that were from me, right?"
"Um, yes." I nodded hesitantly. I felt a little uneasy at how close the woman was.
"And what did you think of them? Surely you could understand it if you want to purchase them."
"Enough." Glynda spoke, walking towards us. "Miss, I think you should give her some space. You're making her nervous."
"Oh, silly me!" The woman giggled a bit before stepping back and turning to Tukson. "I'll settle the trade another time then, Tukson."
"Hm? Sure. Just hope you can trade books that are actually readable here."
