Chapter 37: Lost Sight

Well, last night was surely hectic. I still can't believe we actually played spin the bottle. It was… weird to say the least since when Jaune spun the bottle, and since Pyrrha was sitting next to Ren, the bottle ended up pointing to him instead. Luckily, Ruby and Nora were distracting Chiki with a game they were playing on the holographic screen so she didn't see anything.

Today was the Doubles round, and a few teams have already fought their way through. Instead of a bracket system, the teams are chosen by random. Therefore, both sides won't know who they are facing until the randomization is done. The previous match was impressive, between Haven's Izanagi and Sakuna Shiruba of Team ICRS, pronounced as Icarus, against Atlas's Christal Crystellium and Shenigami Siruganai of Team CJSS, pronounced as Chess. The winners being the latter due to ring-outs.

Now for the next match, the first team chosen in this one is Team CMSN's Emerald Sustrai and Mercury Black as their pictures appear on the hologram. Everyone within the colosseum waited in anticipation for the team that is going up against them. The roulette began to slow down before stopping on Team CFVY's Coco and Yatsuhashi.

"Oh ho! Looks like we have a crowd favourite here!" Peter announced as the arena roulettes spun. "Emerald and Mercury of Haven, versus, Coco and Yatsuhashi of Beacon!"

"Robin, any thoughts you would like to share for this match up?" Dr Oobleck asked,

"Hm… Both Emerald and Mercury are skilled fighters judging from their previous match. But that doesn't mean that I won't be cheering for Coco and Yatsuhashi. Speaking of which." I reached in my coat and pulled out a beret and sunglasses, both given by Coco, of course.

"Well, it appears that you're prepared for this occasion." Peter chuckled.

"Yeah. But these sunglasses are making it difficult to see the arena." I said, taking them off. "Sorry, Coco. But I'll just stick with the beret."

Unlike the four on four matches, the terrain has now doubled with four different segments on the arena. In this match, the four areas are a dense forest, a ruined city, a large tall grass area with a single tree, and a hot spring with geysers and blue Dust crystals.

Yatsuhashi was meditating while Coco lowered her sunglasses and said something to Emerald. Knowing her, she must be talking about her outfit. Yatsuhashi was finished with his meditation and stood up, drawing out his Fulcrum.

Before the match began, my Scroll suddenly rang. I quickly checked it and noticed a message from Ruby. Curious to why she would message me, I read it while the match was about to start.

"Um, Robin. We hve a little sitution here."

I was confused about what she meant, even without the spelling errors.

"What is it, Ruby?"

"It maybe or maybe not had something to do with not to do with me not not knowing what or where Chiki is or isn't missing."

Oh my Oum...

"I'm sorry. I need to leave right now." I said, standing up.

"Oh, uh. Well if it's something important, then you can go." Peter got out.

"Welp, seems like Robin's leaving." Yang pointed out before realising. "Wait… She's leaving..."

"I'm not going to point the finger. But did you do something, Ruby?" Blake questioned.

"I wonder why she is leaving?" Weiss sarcastically spoke.

"U-Uh… Well, you see… It was Jaune who's supposed to watch over her!" Ruby immediately got out.

"What?! I watched over her before we got to Amity Colosseum!" Jaune denied. "You were the last one watching her when we boarded the ship!"
