In the outskirts of a small town located south of Vale, the townspeople ran in panic as Grimm entered and prowled the streets targeting anyone they lay eyes upon. A Boarbatusk rolled through the horde, straight towards Frederic, who dropped his axe, Silver Trinity, took the hit head on with his shoulder, lifting it up before slamming down onto the ground, the tusks burrowing in the ground and leaving it stuck upside down. Frederic then picked up his Silver Trinity and cleaved the abdomen of the defenceless Boarbatusk.
Yanking the axe from the body, he looked towards the Beowolf horde in front of him. They kept their distance, slowly growing in numbers. Although they have the number advantage, they were aware of Frederic's monstrous strength. They soon charged at him, some even passing him when he linked his Silver Trinity to a chain and tossed it to a Beowolf on his right before pulling it, causing the axe to swing in a horizontal line and chopping the Beowolves that were in range.
Elias readied his poleax, Madmazel, far behind Frederic as the Grimm were getting close. Winding it back he slammed his weapon down, creating a shockwave before using the momentum to flip over his weapon and slammed it back down again. He did this several times, launching Beowolves into the air. In a blink of an eye, the Beowolves had several deep cuts on their bodies as Guire landed on the ground, twirling her dagger, Honey.
Chrom cut down a Nevermore chick that landed in the centre of the town as Muirgel and Licht shot down a few more with Elfire. He looked around when he saw a Beowolf on all fours, slowly crawling towards three little girls. They were backed into a corner with debris covering their only way of escaping. The eldest stood in front of the other two, holding a metal pole. The Beowolf jumped when...
"Arcthunder!"
I cast as the spell was fired and hit the Grimm, shocking it before I ran towards it and decapitated it with Levin. Quickly swapping Tomes, I turned around and cast Arcwind, the spell strong enough to blow aside the debris and create a path.
"Go now. We'll take care of this." I told them.
The eldest nodded before taking the other two away from here. I watched as they left the area before I swung Levin around, slashing a Beowolf's arm off and Chrom piercing his Falchion through the body and kicked it away.
"Those were the last ones. All that's left is to rout the remaining Grimm." He stated.
"Right. Let's just hope the town can stand from the Grimm." I said before seeing Wyck bashing an Ursa into a building. "...And from some of us..."
___________
(Afterwards)"I can't thank you all enough for saving our town." An elder spoke. "Ever since the tragedy that took place a year ago, the number of Grimm attacks have increased in these parts."
"We're just doing our jobs." Chrom waved off.
"Aren't there more Huntsmen here? During the skirmish, I've only seen four fighting." I asked.
"We do. But most were badly injured in a previous attack. It was a bad time for them since Oguma wasn't here to lead them." He got out. "He was in Mistral at the time, and news got to him too late."
"Well, the Grimm shouldn't be attacking anytime soon. Even so, stay cautious." Chrom advised.
"Of course."
The elder soon left as the remaining Shepherds returned from helping the townspeople. I happen to notice Chiki playing with the children of the town, keeping their spirits up. She was really close with two of the girls I saved earlier. One with blue hair and the other had pink, the eldest with green hair watched with a smile.
"Time we return to camp." Chrom spoke.
"Wait. Just a bit longer." I said, looking at Chiki. "Let her have some fun. Besides, she's going to leave soon, right?"
