Present Time―U.A. High

A week has passed ever since the U.S.J. incident, with everyone safe and sound. And, while he could have just gone home immediately, Izuku remains in the hospital to get his proper treatment, and boombayah, he's outta' there.

Although he had been advised to stay home afterwards to at least get some proper rest, even if he was properly functioning and no longer had an open torso plus a literally crushed heart, he hadn't want that, hence requiring the principal to literally take action and state his order for all students to stay in their homes while they carried out some investigation.

And when he was back to class with everyone else, he had appreciated the frantic concerns of everyone there, but he was well, and nothing bad happened again.

While everyone had continued to worry over him, asking him every now and then whether there was anything wrong with him, he would answer that he really was fine, and every damage had been fixed.

Not undone, sure, but mended. It still doesn't look pretty, though.

"How bad is it?" Asked Shirayuki after a class, all the girls turning to look at him. He flinches, taken aback by that. "We know we've asked you this so many times, but we just want to make sure."

"It's... closed up?" He offered back, looking around in uncertainty.

Reiko chooses to shake her head at that moment. "Not that. How it looks. After all that."

"Right. That was one hell of a punch that Noumu gave you, after all," frowned Ochako, some others voicing out their agreement.

"Umm... I-I'm not sure if I should be showing you girls anything, because, w-well, you know..." It didn't need to be said that he was a boy, and the collective class blushed when the realisation hit them. "I-I promise, it's not that bad! Y'all don't need to worry, it's just—"

"Izuku, that thing punched you straight through your chest!" Shouted Katsumi, her fear burning brighter than her anger.

"...Okay, it's bad. Really terrible," he sighs, dropping whatever pretence he had hoped he could maintain. "It's left a scar, and it's... still a bit scary to look at, to be honest. I look at it, and I sometimes just... don't want to look at it, you know? It's hard to ignore it, because it's there."

"What is it like?" Asked Saiko, getting him to stammer. "Please, we are classmates. We should be able to trust each other."

"I... It's not that. Y'all are..." He doesn't say anything afterwards, just shrugs meekly. "Ya' know..?"

"D-Don't worry! We won't do anything to make you uncomfortable!" Piped in Kinoko, but it really didn't even help because even she is flustered. "R-Right, girls?"

"Of course not. Our friend has just suffered, and we'd only add salt to the wound if we say anything disrespectful about him," nodded Ibara. "Can you trust us, Izu-kun?"

Seriously though, being put on the spot for something like this isn't something that he was feeling comfortable with, the fact that they were girls aside.

To be honest, he's already shown his scar to his mother and sisters, but with them, it felt... natural. Because the trust between them is stronger than with anyone else, but he just can't... he can't help but feel nervous with his friends because their relationship isn't exactly all that close, but...

Ah, screw it. They'd just gone through hell together, even if that was just the beginning of things. They'd fought by his side, and they'd continue to do so in the future, so he'll put his faith on them as well.
