Flashback-U.A. High, Principal's Office
Izuku remembered, very clearly, just how happy his friends had been, when their parents could come over to watch them during today's Sports Festival.
He could be quite oblivious to a lot of things, but he noticed some of them. Ochako's parents came, Reiko's sister did (she has a sister? Or this is part of this alternate universe thing), Tensei did too, and so many other people came along as well.
While many did wonder how their parents could even afford tickets into the Sports Festival, seeing that they were expensive and quite limited, well...
Only Izuku held the answer to that.
"So, you're saying that all students' families should be allowed to watch their children? Without paying for the tickets?"
"I know it may seem rather... unfair, so to speak, but think about it."
It was a topic he had brought up to the principal, with all the teachers present there to join the discussion and put in their thoughts on the subject. It was a discussion, after all, so everyone's opinion on the matter was critical for making the ultimate decision.
Toshinori, or All Might, watched his student with surprise, not missing the look of seriousness on the boy's face. He never made that face unless in a fight.
Because, to be very honest, he looked good with that face.
And he'd have to be very blind and stupid to not know how many of his female classmates paid attention to him during battle...
"Hmm... Well, before anything else, I'd like your opinion on why this should be so, as well as for your motivation as to making this demand of me," asked Nezu, calmly sipping his tea, before his beady eyes widened in delight. "And compliments on the tea. What flavour is this?"
"Pu'er tea," the boy answers, smiling simply. "A type of blend that originates from China."
"I see... It is quite tasty," happily hums the creature. "Anyways, please continue."
"Sir. I might bring up irrelevant points, but I've really thought about this through and through, and I think my points should be enough. Every student here, though teenagers as they are, can still be considered 'children'," he said that while making quotation marks with his hands. "Granted, I'm in the same category. If families parents can come, imagine the positive effect it might have on them-"
"-With motivation, they're bound to put on quite the show, and that will attract a lot of attention. They'll shoot for the top, not just for themselves or their school, but many people do it for their parents. I'm the same. I could be there and shout 'I did it, mom! I won!', or something along those lines," the boy scratched his cheek, now looking somewhat timid. "Although, I won't really do that. Too nervous."
"I see..." Humming back, the principal finishes his cup of tea, eyeing the boy.
"That, and because families would be able to share their opinions on the school," added the boy afterwards. "What better source of opinion than the parents themselves, no? This would work for advertising purposes, as families could go on to share their experiences and basically talk about this and that about U.A. High with relatives or friends in general, as well through blogs. This helps U.A. gain more reputation, and attract students to enrol here. And... yeah. That is all."
His words said, the boy decides to keep silent, leaning into his seat and deciding to wait for the principal's words, the hybrid keeping oddly silent as he just stared at the boy without blinking.
With every passing second, all the teachers feel the tension in the room grow, and Izuku feels his legs start to shake. Droplets of sweat start forming on his neck, and he's not sure what to do. Maybe he shouldn't have come here.
