Scar grinned as he saw Cub fly in with a picnic basket. The pirate had just finished making a nice cliff overlooking the little cove where his starter base was, just for this occasion. He was quite proud of it, the little juts and ridges were all placed perfectly, and it looked just like it would if it had been there for eons, the waves carving it out of the island.

"You've outdone yourself, as usual," Cub noted as he landed on the precipice. "Is this really just for tonight?"

Scar waved a hand nonchalantly. "Nah, I'll probably make something else out of it later. But for now, we've got the whole sea and sky to ourselves." He told the scientist.

Cub chuckled. "You didn't have to go this far. We could have just seen the shower from one of the hills on the island," he pointed out.

"But where would be the magic in that? You said it yourself, the Perseids are something that you've always wanted to see. And finally, there's a perfect night to watch them. The weather is nice and the sky is clear." Scar replied with a smile. "Did you bring the cake?" He asked as an afterthought.

Cub held up the basket, a smile on his face.

With that, the two Convex sat down, the various stone smooth on their backs cool but not uncomfortable. The salty mist of the waves swirled around them Little crumbs from the cake scampered down their chins, as they watched the skies expectantly.

It was around 2:30 in the morning when they saw the first one, a streak of white light against the starry purple sky, the harbinger of something truly magical. It was quickly followed by more of its brethren, which seemed to dance as they passed over their heads. Cub pointed this out to Scar.

"Well, then." Scar replied with a flirtatious smirk, standing up. "Why should they be the only ones to dance tonight?"

He offered his hand to Cub, who laughed as he took it. The pirate and the scientist did a waltz on the precipice, the sea mist swirling around their feet, the lights of the shower above them like a chandelier. It was as if the rest of the world had disappeared, and all that existed was this moment, here and now, just the two of them.

Step, two, three.

The two were in perfect harmony.

Step, two, three.

Neither of them said a word.

Step, two, three.

Their motions spoke more than words ever could.

Step, two, three.

It was their world, their time, their night.

"Do you want to make a wish on one of the falling stars?" Scar asked.

Cub smiled. "Why would I wish for anything? I have everything I could ever need right here."

Convex Ship is goals.

So I'm feeling in a romantic mood today, because there was this new kid in class today, and we were so in sync, it felt like we had one mind. I definitely felt something.

So I decided to try my hand at some fluff, rather than the hurt/comfort that I usually end up writing. And since I promised some Convex Ship when I could figure something out, here this is!

It's shorter than I would have liked, and probably sucks. I am pretty bad at writing fluff. But oh well, had to get this out there.

Hope you enjoy!
