Our favorite spoon woke up rather abrubtly to his communicator going off like crazy. Rubbing his eyes, he fumbled around his nighttable, trying to locate the device. What was going on on the server that he was being so rudely awakened so early...?

His eyes flew open as the mustached hermit sat up in bed. 32 emails from Youtube, and more coming in by the second... and they all said the same thing. 

Copyright strikes. But all of my content follows copyright laws... he thought, exhaustion from the last few videos he had worked so hard to craft. Checking the emails further, he realized a couple of important things.

All of the strikes were being assigned automatically. 

All of them came from a company called Warner Chappell. 

All of them were accusing him of using his intro and his outro unlawfully.

Now, Mumbo knew he hadn't broken any rules. He had a deal with the person who wrote the music in his intro and outro that allowed him to use some snippets for his videos. Hell, it was even written up in a contract! 

But this was a big deal. His entire income was based off being a content creator. Disputing these claims, which had numbered 400 at this point, meant that he would have to spend at least twelve hours disputing all of these claims, assuming that they stopped here.  Then, he'd have to wait thirty days for the claims to be rebuked. 

He messaged Youtube about the issue, but got no response. They were responding to other issues, though. 

More frustrated than angry, he posted about this problem to Twitter, and even made a short video about it. 

Mumbo didn't expect what happened next, though. 

It was though war had been declared, as hermits, followers, and fans alike took up arms, each one of them doing their part to help him out. Everyone who cared about their favorite spoon sent out words, spreading knowledge of the problem, offering support, reprimanding Warner Chappell for this attack. An army was summoned, willing to fight for him. It was truly moving.

No matter what happened, Mumbo knew one thing. He wouldn't have to go through this alone.

This probably sucks, but it had to be done as soon as I was able. While I can't comment on videos or use most forms of social media while I'm here in the community home, I can write this to show my support. Thank you Bird for offering to send this to him.

Instead of my usual sign off, I'm going to repeat the main message I want you to receive.

To anyone reading this, Mumbo creates free content for us, and that's how he makes his living. Warner Chappell is trying to take that away from him and from us, just so they can get some money. (I'd have some words to say about them, but my computer is dying and I should keep this brief.) Youtube's algorithms are screwed up. If we take this up and spread the awareness around, then maybe we can fix this problem.

And Mumbo, if you see this, while I can't do much, I will do what I can to help you out. You have my support.
