3:45pmRichie opened the front door, entering the house with Max and Jane behind him. His mom and Ted were sat on the couch watching something on TV.
"Hi mom, hi Ted." Richie greeted, closing the door once the girls entered.
"Richie can we talk with you?" Karen asked.
Richie spared a glance toward his friends before nodding at his mom. "Go wait upstairs." Richie entered the room, sitting on an empty spot of the couch.
"So, Mike was telling us about you four wanting to go back to Maine next week. Why?"
Richie mentally cursed his brother for exposing their plan. "Well, it was fun camping up there last time. We wanted to do it again."
"For four days?" Ted asked.
"Yes." Richie pushes up his big glasses, slouching back in his spot. "I don't see a problem with that."
"Richie, Maine is so far. Plus there's nothing in Maine. You can camp here."
Richie shot up, Eddie is in Maine. "Mom, come on! We'll take the train there and back! If anything, there's nothing here!"
"Richie, you aren't going. And that's final!" Karen yelled.
"I hate you!" Richie yelled, storming upstairs.
"Richard Wheeler get down here right now!"
Richie kept walking, ignoring his mother's calls. His body shook with anger and his face held a red tint. His mother didn't even know how important going to Maine was for him, and yet he wouldn't tell her. Instead he passed his open door and head towards his brothers room.
"Richie?" Jane mumbled out, opening the door to follow the fuming boy.
Richie busted into the room, seeing Mike shoot up from his bed, along with Will who was seated at the desk. Will put a hand over his chest from the scare.
"What the fuck, Mike!" Richie yelled, his voice loud and full of pure annoyance.
"What?" Mike asked.
"Why'd you tell mom and Ted about Derry?!"
"We would have to tell them at some point and I just realized that we didn't even ask if we could go!"
"Well, thanks to you we aren't going! So what... now it'll be in... like June or July till I can see Eddie?" Richie thought, he voice low but the pain and anger still evident.
"Richie I'm sorry." Mike mumbled.
"You should be! This is all your fault!" Richie shook while screaming that, the thought of having to wait so long in order to see his best friend made his heart ache. He began to cry he was so angry.
"Richie..." Max spoke from behind him.
Richie grabbed his face, bringing his fingers under his glasses to wipe his tears before throwing his hands down to his side. He sighed angrily as he stormed out into his room, slamming the door behind him.

Richie laid in his bed, his head pushed against his tear stained pillow. It was now almost four thirty, Max and Jane left, and Richie was expecting his call from Eddie soon.
He didn't want to tell Eddie the bad news of not being able to go next weekend to see him. But he knew he had to.
He just didn't understand why his mom would disagree with him going. He then decided that maybe he should call Eddie, or, maybe he should go tell his mom about the tiny brown haired boy who lived 17 hours away.
