"Look, Aidan, you shouldn't be crushing on me in any circumstance. I'm a horrible human being and is the worst of the worst! I'm telling you, I'm not the person you should be interested in," I explained while we both sat down in a table located at the very back. I wasn't much of a social person so I preffered to be away from mostly everyone, not including Aidan of course.

He looked at me in disbelief with an eyebrow raised and the other scrunched down. He shook his head in disagreement as he took a bite of his red apple. He turned to look at me and said, "I disagree highly. You're an amazing person, Y/n, better than all the other snobby and cocky girls that show off their boobs and ass."

That made me chuckle a bit. He's supposedly 'popular' and all with multiple and I mean multiple girls surrounding him at school. He never likes the attention and the fights he gets in with the girl's boyfriend/s (yes, they might have had many more boyfriends). He complains everyday about it.

I, personal, think he should be happy because of his popularity and the many 'friends' he's making each day. I do feel bad for him but his fault, not mine.

"Why do you like me?" I asked, fiddling with my food. "Yo-" "Actually, don't. I know you all too well. You're going to make a long paragraph that is nothing like me so don't even waste your oxygen on me."

He frowned, taking another bite. "I really do like you, Y/n, and nothing's going to change that."

"Nothing you say?" I thought for a moment before coming up with the biggest regret I might ever have. I slammed his porridge to his face and dashed away while everyone watched my escape. I felt horrible and I still do when I think about it.

I wanted his crush on me to go away, not our friendship to vanish because of that. What were you thinking, Y/n!?

"Where the hell do you think you're going!" Racheal shouted, chasing after me I assumed. I kept going faster till I reached our next class's room which, unfortunately, I had with Aidan.

I put my back against the door because of Racheal and her stupid gang were banging it. I honestly thought they were going to break it down, but thank God the bell rang and it stopped.

A sigh of relief escaped my mouth as I walked to my chair. All the students came and gave me a weird look, making me more uncomfortable as I shift around my chair. Ofcourse, the last one to come in was Aidan, looking a bit wet but still the same as the last time. I was shocked, really.

He looked at me and that's when all of the thoughts ran in my head saying, 'what if he isn't going to be friend with you anymore?' And others like that. But instead, he gave me a soft and cute smile before going to his seat.

His seat was next to mine.

In the middle of the class, as I was taking some notes (doodles), Aidan nudged my shoulder and whispered, "I still like you. Even if you embarrassed me in front of everyone. That doesn't matter." I couldn't help but blush a bit.

I decided to ignore him the whole day but he didn't seem bothered.

School was boring, as usual. Of course the complaining of Racheal and her gang was there too, saying how I was a 'Female Dog' because of what I did in the cafeteria.

"Y/n! Wait up!" Aidan shouted to me, running to catch up but I only increased the speed. I reached home to be greeted with Aidan in front of me. "How the hell did you get here?" I asked, astonished.

He smiled. "Shortcuts and the ability to run faster than you."

"Why do you want me to NOT have a crush on you anymore? I don't get it," he asked, stroking his chin. "I don't know," I answered, walking passed him and unlocking the door. Before I could close it, he rushed in. "Don't! Ignore me."

I shake my head and placed my bag on the table. "Shut up and get out." I feel worse now.

He didn't bother saying anything before he left. I closed the door and began to whine in my room.

I kept this behavior, even though I didn't want to, for a few days and did my best to do everything to get him to hate me. I tried spilling his juice on him as well as throwing food at him. I also tried ignoring and being rude but that didn't work. I gave up shortly after.

I spotted him the next day, happy and cheerful as always. He walked up and greeted me, acting like I didn't just spill juice on him the day before. "Do you hate me now?" I asked.

"No. It's impossible to hate your bubbly personality."

"But I've been horrible to you for the past few days! How can you not be at least annoyed?"

"It's simple. I know you don't mean the things you've been doing to me and that's all I need to know."

"But- I was a horrible friend to you even if I meant it or not!"

"Are you trying to ruin our friendship, Y/n?" He asked, giving me a 'are you sure' look as well as nudging me. He knew the answer but I still felt like saying it.

"No! No, I don't! I just want your crush on me to go away.."

"Wh-"

"I'm a clumsy and dumb human being that doesn't do anything with her life! And you.. you are the absolute opposite of me and I just don't think you should even be hanging out with me. Y'know, your reputation and all. But you have been the best and most true friend I have ever had and I would like to keep it that way till we part, which I don't want to."

"I disagree highly about the adjectives you're describing yourself. First, you're a kind and generous. Second, even though you are clumsy, you are still cute when you fall. Third, you do many things in life! You take risks and all the chances you get. Remember the time where I was too afraid to ride a waterslide but you were more than ecstatic to do you persuaded me to ride with you? Do I have to mention you are absolutely gorgeous and beautiful! And I really don't care about my reputation. It doesn't matter to me, because you matter to me the most, Y/n!"

His words meant so much to me and still do. I started to doubt him but I couldn't help but agree. Even if I did protest, he would convince me to.

"You said you wanted to be only friends?"

I nodded.

"I guess my mission is to change that," he winked at me.
