We were currently 4th in the medal table and we had one final dive left. It was a battle for the bonze position between us and the Russians. We couldn’t afford to mess this dive up we had to score 81.00 or more to get the bronze. I went over to the showers and turn it on and let the water pour over me, I tried to take my mind off the fact if I did one thing out of time we wouldn’t have any chance of a medal; and that if I did the whole crowd would be disappointed and probably hate me. “I can do this, I can do this, I can do this” I mumbled to me self. Katie came over to the shower next to me “This is it do or die no pressure on us” “Yeah I know” I mumbled “You ready?” “I guess” “Come on we could be one more dive away from getting a medal at a home Olympics” I smiled and we made our way to the boards. Katie was right, it was one more dive, one more dive and I could have an Olympic medal in my hands at a home Olympics that was all an athlete good dream of.  We made it to the last set of stairs and watched the Germans who were currently in second position do their final dive. I ran through my last dive in my head and stretched my arms and legs once more.

Once we got to the 10 meter platform I heard the crowd cheer as our names were announced. I chucked down my shammy and go into position for my dive. Katie smiled at me and I smiled back. This was it. The crowd died down a bit and I took a deep breath. I could feel everyone’s eyes watching me, I took one final look at the crowd and as if, it was meant to happen I spotted Tom and Tonia smiling. “Ready?” Katie asked “Yep” “Okay 1,2,3,” I took another deep breath and chucked myself off the board into the somersault position.

I sliced through the water a massive grin appeared on my face I had done it, I just needed the score. It felt like a good dive but was it enough. I surfaced; swam to the side of the pool and pulled myself out. Katie came up to me pulled me into a hug as we both waited for our result. It seemed like a life time of waiting until it was finally clear. 83.00! We had done it! “Oh My God” I screamed “we did it!” I shouted at Katie she looked in shock then it must have finally sunk in because she started screaming and jumping with me. A whole load of emotion just came over me like never before I couldn’t help but cry.

“In bronze position representing Great Britain is Katie Thompson and May Tierney” I was still crying but I couldn’t help it and the massive smile on my face. Katie and I got our medals and flowers and we waved the crowd I felt like I had done my country proud. This feeling was un- real. An unforgettable moment. 1 done 2 to go.

I couldn’t stop looking at my medal, even though it was a bronze it was still a medal at a home Olympics. In celebration for mine and Katie’s and Tom’s and Pete’s medals the whole diving  team was going out for Nandos in westfields. But lucky for everyone else except me and Tom they were all going out after to go have a few drinks but due to the fact me and Tom have our individual events tomorrow and I was underage we couldn’t go. Everyone had a great time and Nando’s but then me and Tom had to head back. “Can’t you guys just sneak in with us I feel bad you both deserve a drink too” Katie said. “Katie you know I would but for once I think Kat’s right we both have the primarily rounds of our individuals tomorrow” I pouted “Yeah May’s right don’t worry there is loads more time to celebrate after all of our events you guys have a great time though” “Okay if your both sure, we’ll see you tomorrow” Katie smiled and ran off to where the others were. “Come on then diver boy I guess it’s just you and me” I winked. He laughed and followed me.

We made our way out of Westfields and back to the Olympic village. “You did so well tonight” Tom said “Thanks but not as good as you look at you with you silver medal” I laughed  he smiled.  “Let me take a picture of us both with our medals” said Tom “Yeah okay” he pulled out his phone and he took one of us being silly with our medals we both laughed “This is going on twitter” “No way Tom” I said while he was taping at his phone “Too late” he giggled. I felt my phone buzz so I pulled it out and funnily enough I had a new mention ‘ @TomDaley1994: Me and @MayTierney_xo with our medals #TeamGB #London2012 #weirdface #becausewearecool :P’ “Got enough hash tags there Tom”  he laughed.

 “Just 2 more to go then all of this will be over it’s weird to think that all the training and stuff it’s just weird if you get me” I said “Yeah I do, but after this I think we get about 3 weeks off then back to training again” “Great I love getting up at 5 each morning” “You do because you get to see this beautiful face” he said and pointed at himself  “#sarcasm” , “anyway do you think we’re ready for our event on Saturday?” I asked “Yeah of course we wouldn’t be here if we weren’t” “That’s so weird that’s what Tonia said to me when we were watching you earlier” “That’s because when I was nervous in Beijing that was what she told me and look where we are now”  he smiled.  “Daley you’re the best” he grinned “I know” he mocked I punched him gently “Hey you can’t do that to an Olympic Silver medallist” “Well if you are a bronze medallist it’s ok to” “Where does it say that?” “In the rule book” l shrugged “What rule book?” “The book called ‘May Tierney has the right to hit Tom Daley whenever she wants because she is cool like that” he laughed “I need to get this book” “It’s available at all local retail stores” “You are so weird” “You can talk Thomas, besides you wouldn’t want me any different”   I laughed as we reached the team GB apartments. “I’ll guess I’ll see you tomorrow then Tom” “I’ll walk you back to your apartment” he said “You sure yours is in the complete opposite direction and…” “I don’t mind” he butted in “Thanks”

We walked in a comfortable silence until we reached mine and Katie’s apartment. He turned to face me “I’ll guess I’ll see you probably tomorrow or something” I said. There was something about his eyes that I hadn’t noticed before they were dazzling and shinning like his adorable smile.  I snapped out of my daydream and looked at the floor to stop myself from starring at my best friend like that. “Yeah…errr… I’ll see you around” I looked up at him again; he bit his lip nervously I tried to break the awkwardness by finding my key and opening my door. I tried to walk in but he grabbed my wrist like he had earlier today “Wait” I looked him in the eyes again. I turned to face him and he let go of my wrist as he put a strand of my hair which had fallen in front of my eyes behind my ear. He leaned in and kissed me. I was shocked I mean not in a million years did I think he was going to kiss me. But surprising I didn’t pull away straight away until I really realised what I was doing. I looked down “I’ll see you tomorrow then” I looked up to him he looked slightly disappointed “Er yeah um sorry about that I could help myself” he blushed “It’s ok… I wanted you to” I smiled shyly and massive smile spread across his face. “Night Diver boy” “Night Diver Girl I’ll text you” he began to walk away and I close the door behind me. Wow as if that just happened I guess Stace was right maybe I do have feelings for him. Shit Kat’s gonna physically kill me.
