Chapter 36
“Wwwhat what what are you doing here?” I said shakily. “Came to see my daughter is that a crime” she laughed “I thought you would have got the message last time I wasn’t interested in knowing you”. She looked worse than last time. She wore old dusty shorts and pair of old heals and a hoodie. She stunk of cigarettes and booze. I was beginning to get scared, I know she was my mum by blood but she wasn’t my real mum in my eyes. “ I know you didn’t mean it” she smiled. “Have you been drinking?” I asked “Maybe” she giggled “Mum I want you to go now please” I said sternly “What happens if I won’t go?” “So let me get this straight you want me to let you in with open arms just like nothing has ever happened! Well mum I’m sorry but that’s not how I roll, maybe you would know that if you hadn’t tried to kill me! You know what my Dad has been the best ever; I used to hope that my mum would just show up on our door step like all of the other kids at school. I wanted to be a normal family me you and Dad. But now I understand why my dad was always working he was trying his best to put a roof over our heads and making sure I am happy. And Debby has been more a mum you have ever been to me! She has always been there if Dad was working to pick me up from training or if I just needed someone to talk too” I screamed. She seemed slightly taken back by it. I put my hand in my pocket and pulled out my phone and began to call dad. I couldn’t deal with her on my own and I don’t know what she is capable of. “What are you doing?” she asked nervously “What do you think calling Dad” I said and began to type in his number. “Put the phone down.” She said sternly I carried on, why should I listen to her? “I said put the phone down” she said again, but this time she had a gun in her hand. “Now put it on the side where I can see it” she said. I did exactly that. I began to shake with fear and tears began to run down my cheeks. “So you’re here to finish me off… you didn’t get what you wanted last time so you came back to do it properly this time” I cried. She still had the gun pointed at me but her arm was shaking. My heart rate was going like mad. But I tried to hide my fear I didn’t want her to know how scared I really was. “Mum please… just put the gun down” I said and began to step and bit closer to her. “Don’t take another step closer” she said. I stopped “Mum we can get you help, you might not be thinking straight it might just be the drink me and Dad can arrange something” I whispered “I’m not metal” she whispered “Mum I know you’re not…it’s just we can get someone you can talk too”. I had to make her seem like she could get help that I could help her. I wanted to in away but right now I needed to get away, I knew what she was capable of all of sudden what she had done when I was small what had changed. I just wanted to be in Tom’s arms just like last night. I had to get that gun, I could die either way it was a risk, but one I had to take. Before I knew it I jumped on her and began to try and grab the gun. “GET OFF ME!” she screamed. I began searching for the gun franticly, I began searching even though I couldn’t see what I was doing then I suddenly heard a bang.
I let go of her a stumbled backwards towards the wall. I looked at my mum she stood up straight she had blood on her hands but she looked fine. She was staring at my stomach. Then I felt an excruciating numb feeling. I looked down and saw blood staining through my dress. I took a deep breath this wasn’t happening, I was just having a nightmare right? I suddenly felt weak I slid down the wall until I hit the floor. “Mum help me!” I cried she just stood there motionless staring at me. “MUM” I screamed “I’m sorry I’m so so sorry” she cried and ran out. “Mum mum mum! Please come back please don’t leave me! I cried I began to cry uncontrollably I’m not sure whether it was the physical pain as well at metal pain that my mum had just left me here to die. I needed my phone. I stretched my arm up to the kitchen counter. Then I felt the sharp pain getting sharper I screamed out loud as I felt around for my phone. I suddenly felt it and grabbed it. I clicked the buttons frantically, I scrolled away until I saw the first number on my screen Tom’s. I rang it. “Come on come on come one please Tom” I cried it rang a few times until her picked up “Hey beautiful we are waiting for you where are you we were thinking pizza express what ya think?” he asked “Tom Please help me!” I cried as I began to feel dizzy . “What babe whats the matter?” “My mum … she had a gun. Please Tom I’m at home and it hurts so much!” I cried “What! Ok May hold on I’m on my way” He shouted and hung up. I placed my phone down next to me and looked around the kitchen trying to take my mind off the pain and the blood. I had never liked blood it always made me feel sick. I looked down at my top and began to cry even harder. My dress which was originally white was now completely red and I couldn’t move. The room began to appear 3 times in front of me, I tried to blink it away. “I don’t want to die” I mumbled to myself.
