KATNISS' POV
When we walked into the mansion, the avox that Peeta and I had met at the first games, led us through a maze of hallways, into a large room covered in gold designs and floor to ceiling windows.
Just as we walked in, we heard someone appear at the door.
"There she is" the man said with slight chuckle 'Plutarch Heavensbee'
"The girl on fire!"
"I haven't been her in 5 years" i sad, but plutarch just chuckled again, 'what's so funny?'
Looking at Peeta, i can tell he is thinking the same thing
Plutarch stops suddenly
"They didn't tell you did they?" 'didn't tell me what?! What's going on?!' i shook my head slightly
"Paylor wanted you to come back, to be apart of the defense against Russia" i continued my puzzled look, hoping he would elaborate
"Russia has been trying to infiltrate Panem for the last few months, but they are starting to make progress, i don't know what Paylor wants to use you for but by the urgency she had in getting you 3 back to the capitol, i can tell it's important"
"Us THREE?" Peeta read my mind, who's the 3rd?
"Yes, Haymitch Abernathy should be joining us shortly" i can't believe it! I haven't seen Haymitch in close to a year, he went to District 11 because of some "distant relative" Plutarch claimed to have found, but he never calls or writes and he hasn't been back once since he left.
I almost don't want to see him, after he found his blood family, his real family (us) seemed to not have existed to him in the first place.
Yet however it might be, i want to see him again. And almost as if on cue, Haymitch walked through door and plopped down onto a chair
"i've been sober for a week, Paylor made me do it, but i'd kill for a bottle right about now" he said longingly, I looked at him in slight shock, Haymitch? Sober?
"What's wrong sweetheart? Wasn't expecting this?" he gestured to himself and let out a slight chuckle
"I can be sober if i want to, i just never want to" i rolled my eyes
"Why didn't you come back to visit us?" Peeta asked suddenly
"Why didn't you visit me?" i couldn't help but smile
"Well that reunion was...uh...touching, but Paylor wants you guys in the meeting room right away" Plutarch announced
"Oh and Katniss, your mother is on her way to stay with your children, until then, Haymitch" he said gesturing to the door
"I didn't know you were Paylors personal assistant now Plutarch...what an upgrade" Haymitch chuckled as he walked out the door.
About 10 mins later My mother arrived to watch the boys and Peeta and I wondered the halls until we stumbled upon what we thought might be the meeting room
when we opened the door, we realized right away that it wasn't.
