     "Can you- Can you take her to the car?" Ashton asks Calum, still staring at Luke as Calum takes Lily.

     Calum gives Ashton a look as if to ask, 'What the fuck do you think you're doing?' But doesn't intervene. He takes Lily and goes to the car, leaving Ashton and Luke staring at each other on the sidewalk.

     "I-" Luke chokes out. "You-"

     "You've changed." Ashton says quietly.

     "You've changed." Luke replies solemnly.

     Ashton swallows. "It's been a long time."

     "Y-Yeah." Luke stutters, looking down as he fumbles with his fingers.

     "You have long hair." Ashton comments.

     "You don't." Luke states.

     Ashton looks down at his phone, softly smiling at the text from Calum.

     He slides his phone into his pocket before taking a deep breath. "I-"

     "I almost fucking shit myself when I saw you walking over here and I still feel like I'm going to explode I am so terrified righ-"

     "Dear god." Ashton gasps at Luke. "All I did was walk over to you."

     "I know!" Luke exclaims. "And it was fucking like god himself was walking up to me to pluck me from earth and judge me! I've never been more terrified!"

     "Oh my god." Ashton laughs.

     "Are you not-" Luke sighs . "Are you not completely and utterly terrified right now?"

     "I was until you decided to act like a fool." Ashton laughs. "But I think I'm good now."

     "Jesus christ." Luke runs his hand through his hair. "I'm so embarrassing."

     "Am I being stupid?" Ashton questions. "This is stupid."

     "What?" Luke looks at Ashton for the first time since they started talking, for he had previously been looking everywhere but at Ashton.

     "Do you-" Ashton stutters. "Are you- Do you want dinner?"

     "What," Luke stares at Ashton. "The fuck?"

     "Took your awkward." Ashton sighs, looking anywhere but at Luke. "I'm inviting you to have dinner with my family. I don't know why."

     "Oh." Luke stops, wondering whether or not he should accept the invitation. "Well."

     "Forget about it, I'm so fucking awkward."

     "I mean, I don't think Calum would be cool with it." Luke says.

     "I know, I know, I know." Ashton sighs. "My brain turned off. I don't- I don't even know why I did this."

     "How about Zay comes with me?" Luke suggests. "And it's all of us just having dinner. You could also invite Sierra and Bryana."

     "O-Okay." Ashton nods, halfway grinning. "Alright. Yeah. We'll do that. Tomorrow night? Six o'clock?"

     "Sounds good." Luke agrees. "I'm- I'm going to go before I vomit because I fully expected you to just walk up here and clock me."
