Sirius Black gets all the attention. He knows it, heck, everyone knows it and Merlin knows he loves it way too much with the way he walks down corridors and smiles at girls. But what he doesn't understand though is why (y/n), the girl he most wanted the attention from, doesn't pay him even the slightest bit of care. She talks fondly to Lupin, only to Lupin, much to his dismay. He tries to talk to her but it seems like he's an arrogant toerag to her like James is to Lily. He's not very wrong there. To (y/n), Sirius Black is indeed an arrogant toerag. (Y/n) wouldn't deny his attractive looks, of course, but that's all there is to him, unless you count his obnoxious personality. Sure, he passes all his subjects but he could care less about his grades. The first moment you saw him, you knew what he was: annoying, irritating, insufferable and intolerable but now, you're not really sure.
It seems, after all, you are not immune to his charms. But you'd rather swim with the giant squid than admit that to his face.
"Hey Evans," James said, catching up to a group of girls that includes Lily and you, but then of course, only acknowledging his long time crush.
It is impossible to spot James without his friends so sure enough, three more boys joined your group, Sirius immediately latching to your side. (Y/n) honestly didn't know when he's going to get tired of teasing you but you hope it would be soon. You cannot stop your feelings from going deeper if he continues to appear by your side at every chance he gets.
"Hi (y/ – " Padfoot tries to start.
"Get lost, Black," you said, with the most annoyed tone you could muster. The truth is that you just didn't want him to get so close to you as his smell intoxicates you and the moment he starts to converse with you, you're a goner and you didn't want that. Sirius Black doesn't need more attention.
"What? Is it wrong to greet a pretty lady now?" He asks, smiling.
"Oh hush it, I'm not falling for that! Go flirt with Mckinnon or something," you said, face reddening, with annoyance or envy, you weren't sure.
"Do I hear jealousy, love?" and he had the audacity to smirk.
"In your dreams, Black!" you said at the same time you heard Lily shout, "Can you leave me alone?" to Prongs.
"Come on Evans, just one date!" James insisted.
"I'd rather go with the giant squid than spend time with you!" Lily said.
Prongs looked a bit hurt but determined nonetheless. You realized that he isn't going to stop unless your friend gives in. You saw a hint of regret in Lily's eyes with James' emotions and knew that it would be sooner or later until she falls for Prongs. For (y/n), they're meant to be, Lily couldn't accept it quite yet with James bullying her friend, Severus. You shake your matchmaking thoughts away and focused on your current problem who didn't seem to want to leave.
"Look, Black, your fangirls are waiting for you," you pointed at a group of girls at the end of the corridor looking at your group. It didn't take a genius to figure out that they were really glancing at the boys and not the entire crowd you were in.
"But I don't want them! I want you," he said, as if trying to convince me of a fact.
(Y/n) sighed. This is what you hated most about your conversations with Sirius, him trying to get your hopes up and you falling for it. You knew that he wasn't really serious about it but you can't help but hope it's real – that he really wants your attention, only your attention. In reality, he does but you don't know that, of course, or perhaps, you just didn't want to believe him.
"Oh shut it." And you increased your pace.
Now, it was his turn to sigh.
