If you think Remus Lupin is nice to everyone like the nice person that he truly is, well, you're almost right. If only (y/n) does not exist or does not annoy the hell out of him, everything would be great and you'd be correct in having the previous assumption. But unfortunately, (y/n) does exist and she annoys the hell out of Remus Lupin. The Gryffindor Prefect and one-fourth of the Marauders is very hard to irritate and madden as he is usually a very calm and collected human being (and half wolf but don't tell anyone) and it usually takes something huge to happen to break his meekness and gentle behaviour but then again, (y/n) is capable of doing 'something huge.'

(Y/n) is very smart but she's a know-it-all and she knows it (told you!). She's like Hermione Granger but a pure-blood, more annoying and more beautiful. Oh, and she's a Ravenclaw which makes sense if she's a know-it-all. However, just because she infuriates almost everyone in her classes, does not mean she's a terrible person. On the contrary, she's really nice and helpful. It's another reason why she's not in Slytherin despite being of pureblood. Outside classes, she helps everyone who asks for help in lessons they don't understand or in their homeworks. She's just gotten used to being perfect and on top because of her mother's expectations. Let's just say if there is any ranking and she lands on second spot or whatsoever, Bellatrix Lestrange would seem so angelic compared to her mum. And like any other daughter, (y/n) never wanted that so she tries her best in school, always. This is the main reason why she hasn't got anytime for a boyfriend, not that she wanted to. She likes someone but not to that extent. Boys would usually try but they would end up either ignored or scrutinized by her mum if and when she's around.

For some reasons, Remus does not understand this. Who in the world would want to be with someone that arrogant? He'd met her mum once in Diagon Alley and she's horrible. There's no other word for it. She downright insulted him for the way he looks and dresses himself and when (y/n) appeared after buying some quills, she didn't even spare him a glance or apologize for her mother's behaviour.

She might be pretty but he'd rather listen to Sirius talk about the girls he'd been with than to her asking unnecessary questions about the lessons. To make matters worse, Gryffindor and Ravenclaw have the most classes together which means more time to spend with (y/n) and her endless questions and answers.

To his surprise, however, Sirius, James and Peter do not seem to share his sentiments. Since they aren't really that interested in the lessons generally, they don't usually notice Remus' reason for annoyance. They would talk amongst themselves through messages they write on parchment and pass it around.

"Hey, Moony! You alright there, mate? You seem... mad about something," Sirius Black asks as finally, he notices a frown on his friend's face.

"Pads, you mean you didn't notice that an hour ago? He'd been like that since McGonagall's class!" Prongs says.

"Oh bugger off!" Remus mutters.

"It's (y/n). I know it. I saw him look at her during class and his frown deepened, if that was possible," Peter laughs and Sirius and James join in on him.

"Nothing's funny. She's the worst! She talks and never shuts up, it's annoying," the sandy-haired boy complains.

"She's pretty, though," Sirius points out as James agrees, nodding vigorously.

"Who cares? If you're with her, you'd never be able to tell her anything because she'd talk for the both of you."

"Oh man, you got it bad," Sirius says, shaking his head, then leans on James and whispers, "I bet by the end of next month, our boy here is going to find himself a girlfriend."

"You sure? Well, I'm going to bet he's going to do that by the end of this month," James challenges.

Sirius raises his eyebrow but holds out his hand nonetheless. "Let's shake on it. Five galleons for the winner, deal?"
