Being with Remus meant that (y/n) knows everything that has been going around with him. For one, she knows that he's a werewolf and she accepts him for that. She also knows that he was bitten when he was four by a rabid creature named Fenrir Greyback. She knows how he thought his friends would not accept him if they knew what he was so he made some lame excuses for his disappearances during full moon. Well, basically, the main point is that if someone knows Remus Lupin that well, it's (y/n).

However, just because she is very acquainted with her boyfriend does not mean she is particularly happy with his flaws. Of course, she does not mind them; it's just that when full moon is around, Remus tends to ignore her and she hates that. You see, (y/n) is fine with Moony being moody, sensitive, temperamental, easily angered and all that but he seems to think otherwise. He does not like being rude to people especially to his lovely girlfriend so he just goes by alone until the night of the full moon, of course, when he would be with the Marauders and after the shift with (y/n). This is why people think that they've broken up just to get back again days later but that's because they don't understand the situation.

"Hey, babe, can you help me with the Potions homework?" (y/n) asks when Remus appeared by the portrait hole just after dinner.

"Uhm, sorry (y/n). Prefect duties," he simply says, looking at her for just a split second.

"But you alrea –" she starts but suddenly realizes that Remus just disappeared through the hole again.

(Y/n) sighs. Prefects do not usually have duties that often but Remus suspiciously have more than the others. Yeah, right, she thought. Prefect duties, my ass. (Y/n) bets he's just going to stay inside an empty classroom doing his homeworks or I don't know, maybe, thinking of more excuses. She's not usually angered by this behaviour but she would be lying if she says it does not hurt. Your boyfriend not confiding in you even when he needs to and when you want him to really sucks.

Two days went by like this – (Y/n) trying to approach Remus and Remus purposefully trying to ignore her. After the first day, though, Remus looked guilty and (y/n) knew that he really doesn't like doing this to her. Well, if you would just let me!, she wanted to say.

Today is the day of the full moon and for someone who's got time to get used to the situation, (y/n) still feels nervous and worried for her boyfriend. Sometimes, she just feels like hexing or perhaps, Avada Kedavra-ing Greyback for doing this to such a lovely boy. Remus can't be seen anywhere during the afternoon classes and (y/n) skips Transfiguration – sorry, Professor – just to find him and his friends who seem to be supporting him earlier than usual. I should be there, she thought, but it's too risky and dangerous that Remus does not allow her to be with them or even just witness whatever happens in the Shack.

Dinner passes by without (y/n) entering the Great Hall. She's nervous alright. Without thinking, she proceeds to the boys' dormitories in the Gryffindor tower and goes straight to her boyfriend's room. Like she expected, the room is empty but horribly messed-up. It was like a tornado swept in and created havoc in the room.

Knowing that the boys would only be back by dawn, she cleans and organizes the room that – take note – is messier in Sirius's area. She, then, starts to pace up and down the room after the task, not knowing what else she could do while waiting. It's only 10 in the evening and there is no way she could sleep with all this worry bubbled up inside her.

She sits down on Remus' bed and grabs his pillow. She hugs the thing and sniffs it trying to focus on the smell because her boyfriend's scent seems to calm and soothe her. She does not know when or how but after sometime, she wakes up – damn it, she fell asleep – to the sounds of footsteps and banging on the wall. She stands from the bed and opens the door to reveal Remus, badly bruised and beaten and almost unconscious, with Sirius and James in either of his sides supporting him.

"(Y/n)," Prongs says, breaking the silence.

(Y/n) helps the boys carry Remus on his bed.

"What... are... you...," Remus tries to say just to be hushed by (y/n). "I'm not leaving you," she firmly says.

"It's – he's worse tonight. He's not usually like this during the full moon but tonight he's – he's more – more like a wolf," Sirius explains, thinking of the right words to say to avoid offending anyone. Rabid is not the word he would use especially to describe Remus Lupin.

(Y/n) could not think of anything to say to that so instead of replying, she grabs Remus' hand and tries her best to soothe him.

"Hey, baby, I'm here. You did it, love," she says.

"(Y/n)," Remus whispers.

"Shh, it's fine, it's fine." She cups his face with both hands, careful not to touch any of his wounds, and kisses his forehead. "It's fine."

She pulls one hand away and puts it inside her pocket to get hold of her wand. After being with Remus, (y/n) practiced perfecting healing charms. She scanned all the books that could help her help him during the full moon and healing his wounds seems like the best way to do that. She learned all healing charms related to wounds, werewolf bites and scratches and even one that could make the patient fall asleep and not feel a thing.

She mutters the incantations while tracing her wand just an inch above his wounds, trying her best not to tear up and wishing she could share his pain. My poor Remus. She starts with his face to his chest, to his back then to his legs. By the time she's done, Remus is sleeping soundly, his expression relaxed.

She looks around to see that the other three Marauders are now asleep, too. So she goes and lies down on Remus' side, not minding that she's almost falling off the side of the bed. She's just happy that he's fine now and tomorrow, she's going to convince him that next time, well, next time will be different. She's going to make sure of it.

She pecks him on the lips and whispers, "I love you."

As if he heard her, Remus, unconsciously, put his healed arms around her, securing her around him and embracing her tightly and lays his head on her neck breathing her in deeply.

Despite the rough night, (y/n) is happy that, at least they get to spend the end of it together.
