"Okay, your turn, Black."

It was a tiring week and it was only Wednesday. With all the homeworks finally done, everyone was tired. Right now, the marauders, Lily, Marlene and (y/n) are in front of the fireplace in the empty common room. Everyone went to bed as it is close to midnight. Everyone, except them, obviously. They were playing this muggle game (suggested by Lily) called Truth or Dare and right now, it's Padfoot's turn.

"I've done dare so truth," he answered, confidently.

"Okay," Remus said, pausing to think, "Well, you're a ladies' man, we all know that –"

"That's me," Sirius said, smirking.

"- but haven't one caught your eye yet? Simply, do you like someone?"

It's weird how that one question could annoy and make you nervous all of a sudden. As a bestfriend, even before entering Hogwarts, you were the first one to ever like Sirius Black. You grew up with him and Regulus but he will forever be oblivious to your feelings, thinking everything was platonic. He's blind like that. But Lily and Marlene weren't. First year and they've already noticed but of course, they kept it a secret. But that does not mean they weren't pushing (y/n) to confess.

"Confess? Me? His bestfriend? That's ridiculous, Lily! I would never!" This, you would always say.

Padfoot scoffed and brought you back to reality. (Y/n) shifted her eyes on the fire to look at Sirius and their eyes met for a second until he looked away, back to Lupin.

"I don't," he answered, simply and it's crazy how two words can simply break your heart.

Well, let's just say the game didn't make you happy by the end of the night.

Next morning, (y/n) woke up early. Well, for one, she couldn't really sleep well, so she decided to take an early breakfast, leaving her friends still snoring.

When (y/n) arrived at the Great Hall, there were students already but only a handful, none from Gryffindor though. Not long after (y/n) started eating, people began piling up the hall. She was about to have a second serving of porridge when (y/n) felt someone behind her – Primo Davies of Ravenclaw.

"Hey (y/n). It was really hard to catch you without your friends so um –" he started.

"They're gonna be here soon," you said. This guy has been the one staring at you in every class you have together, even when you walk past in corridors – he's exactly the guy you wanted to avoid.

"Yeah but look, I really, really like you and maybe, perhaps, you'd want to go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend?" he asked.

"Oh, I am so sorry but I already promised I'd go with Lily," (y/n) answered. She made no such plans.

"Well, then, maybe next time, yeah?" he asked, hopeful.

"Yeah, next time. Sorry."

"Oh I'll see you around then. Your friends are coming," he said and sure enough, the boys, Lily and Marlene are walking towards where you're seated. Primo just left when Sirius arrived by your side, "What does he want?"

"Nothing. Hey Lily, can I talk to you later?" you said, instead.

"That's not nothing. Your ears are red. You have been lying. What is it?" Sirius asked more forcefully.

"I told you it's nothing. It's just a bit chilly," (y/n) replied.

"Sure thing (y/n)," Lily interjected, she had a hint of what you wanted to talk about so she saved you from having to answer to Sirius.

Throughout breakfast, Sirius kept looking at you. It wasn't hard to notice since he chose to sit right next to you.

When you left with Lily and Marlene, (y/n) finally said, "Lily, I know you're going with Prongs this weekend but Primo asked me to go with him to Hogsmeade but I told him I was going with you. Can I go with you? Please, please. I'll just be there until he sees me with you and then, I could leave you and Potter alone."

"Oh hush. It's no problem (y/n). I don't mind, really. I know that Ravenclaw likes you and if you don't like him back, I'm going to save you from him," Lily said with a laugh.

"Thank you Lils! You're the best!"

"But you got to admit, he kind of looks good, though, right? But it's got to be Sirius," Marlene said.

Lily just laughed. But (y/n) thought with a sigh, "why does it have to be Sirius?"

-

Weekend came and (y/n) doesn't feel like going but she has to be seen with Lily or else, Primo would think she's avoiding him. She kind of is but he doesn't need to know that.

Prongs was a bit grumpy since he couldn't have Lily alone. Since (y/n) went, Marlene and the rest of the Marauders went with them as well. At noon, they went past the Ravenclaw boys, with Primo. His friends were teasing him when they saw (y/n).

"Hi (y/n)," Primo said and his friends cheered but they stopped when they realized Sirius was glaring at them.

"Hi," (y/n) said in a small voice.

When they rounded up in a corner, Sirius said, "What the hell (y/n)? First in the Great Hall, now here? Is he your boyfriend that you're not telling me about?" He seems pissed but you don't understand why.

"He's not my anything and if it is, why should it matter to you?" (y/n) said defiantly. He screws with girls but she couldn't screw with one, only one, boy?

"I'm just protecting you (y/n). He's not good enough for you!"

"Okay, you guys settle this okay, we'll be around here," Lily said while ushering the rest to leave the two alone. Padfoot and (y/n) didn't seem to notice this much.

"And you know what's good enough for me? You don't, only I can say what's good enough for me! You know what? Maybe I'll date him. Maybe I don't know it yet but he's the one for me. I mean, really, he's kind, and Marlene even said he's kind of good-loo-"

(Y/n) wasn't able to finish her sentence, not when Sirius's lips stopped her ranting. This was a fantasy coming true for her but right now, she's mad. She pushed him away.

"What do you think you're doing? You think you could toy with me like you do to those other girls? I'm not stupid, Sirius and I'm your bestfriend!" you almost yelled.

"I'm not toying with you, (y/n). You – you're the only one I've ever wanted and cared about," Sirius said quietly.

"You just said you don't like anyone! When we were playing, you said, you said you don't –"

"I only said that because I couldn't imagine you liking me back. You said it yourself, you're my bestfriend. I didn't want to ruin our friendship but hearing you say you would be with that guy and talk about him like he's so great just did it! He's not the one for you! I am!" And once again, he was kissing you. He was your cupping you face delicately but he was kissing you none-too-gently.

You couldn't believe that he kissed you first but what you couldn't believe more was his confession. He likes you? HE likes YOU? Thank Merlin!

With this thought in mind, (y/n) kissed him back. No more confessions needed. You kissing him back just sealed the deal. Even without the words, he knew (y/n) liked him, too.

Now, Sirius wasn't anymore (y/n)'s bestfriend, and he'd like to keep it that way.
