Dabi's POV

Izuku looked as if he'd been to hell and back. I slammed my hands on to the shield, trying to get his attention. There was no way he could beat Kurogiri, not that injured. It felt like De-Ja-Vu, from when I'd first saved Izuku from that blonde kid. My chest hurt, almost as if a part of me was about to die. I could only watch, as my Izuku, stumbled toward what would be his demise.

I can't save him this time.

Narrator's POV

Deku walked toward Kurogiri, faltering every few seconds. Blood dripped from his nose, splattering on the concrete rooftop. Kurogiri gaped at him with glassy eyes, ignoring his own pain in his head. And with that, Izuku activated his quirk, not hesitating for a moment more.

Yeah...I'm not hesitating ever again.

Izuku's POV

This is going to kill me. It's going to kill me, right?

An ear piercing scream ripped out from my throat, as I hurled my fist into the rooftop. The blast smashed Kurogiri into the shield, which by now had shattered to pieces. For a moment, I was in the air, the whole world seemed to freeze. Blood was trickling down my face...and I could feel the bones in my arm slowly breaking...

but none of it mattered when I saw Dabi looking right at me.

 Ah. 

His eyes, usually cold gems, somehow still shone with adoration.

How...can you love me... even when I'm at my weakest? 

Narrator's POV

As Izuku fell from the sky, into the building crumbling beneath him, he'd never felt so calm.

 Eyes closing...he let himself fall.

Dabi scrambled through the falling brick, overlooking the gashes forming on his legs. I...can't lose him. 

He held his arms out, heart in throat, as the green haired boy of his dreams fell to him.
