Narrator's POV
Izuku stood outside the training room for a moment, his back pressed tightly against the cold metal doors. Running a hand through his sweat-coated hair, he began muttering to himself softly, unaware of Dabi's sulking figure hidden around the corner.
Izuku's POV
I was unsure of everything in my life at this point, except for one thing: I would never tell Dabi. That stupid kiss didn't even mean anything to me...at least not now. Reminiscing on my early school years, I remember thinking about what I would've given just to have Kacchan look at me in some type of way, let alone kiss me. But, whatever. That's the past.
Dabi is my future.
Dabi is my love. Dabi is...
standing right around the fucking corner??
Dabi's POV
I locked eyes with my "sweet" Izuku, who's green eyes seemed to appear more and more like a snake's as the minutes passed.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, seeming irritated by my mere presence.
"Could ask you the same thing." I replied coolly, refusing to break eye contact and drop the threatening, villainous façade I was putting on.
It worked-- Izuku became visibly uncomfortable as I inched forward, barely able to conceal my rage towards the blonde haired bastard (probably) still sniffling inside the training room.
Izuku's back was still against the door, blocking my entrance.
"Can you move, my love?" I simpered, words dripping with fake adoration.
"Let's train somewhere else, yeah? Looks busy in there today." Izuku grasped my arm and flashed me a quick, cheeky smile. He began to pull me with surprising force, jerking me further and further away from the door. Slowly, I subdued my attempts to break free...
I'd deal with that Kacchan another day.
Izuku's POV
We shuffled back into our room in silence, my arm still gripped on Dabi's tightly. I rushed towards the bed and grabbed sheets, desperate to turn my attention to something else.
"I heard someone crying near the training room. You know anything about that Izu?" Dabi asked from across the room, inspecting his fading dyed hair in the mirror.
I froze as goosebumps traveled up my back, sure that he was glaring at me from the mirror's reflection.
"Nope, I-"
In a flash, I was pinned against the wall, Dabi's eye's burning holes into mine.
"I tried to play nice Izuku, I really did. But you know how I feel about liars so I'll ask you this: Why are you lying straight to my fucking face right now?" He seethed, his left hand gripping my wrist and right hand clutching my shoulder. I could feel both hands begin to heat up, a tell-tale sign of his quirk starting to be activated.
I've never seen him this angry at me before.
"I'm guessing you saw everything then." I sighed, slowly raising my hands to clutch his face.
His grip loosened, surprised by my sense of composure.
"Dabi, I love you, and only you. You're the one who saved me from him the first time we even met. But, you have to understand that I'm not that person anymore. I don't need saving. You can't hurt Kacchan, he made a mistake."
Dabi leaned in, kissing me slowly, and moving his hands to my waist. After a minute he broke away, a sad, desolate look in his eyes.
"If you really loved me Izuku, you'd let me do what I need to do."
