The first week of summer had begun and what did me and my friends decide to do? We decided to check out an old haunted pool house. Well it was rumored to be haunted, we wanted to see if the rumors were true. Yep, we weren’t your normal bunch. These things intrigued us. The crew was myself, Sean, Kevin and Kelly. This pool house has been in this town for quite a while, it’s been abandoned for years, maybe even before anyone of us were born. No one spoke of it ever, if we asked our parents about it, they’d say to let sleeping dogs lie. But why? What were they hiding from us? Of course we had to keep this a secret, no one could know we were going, they’d never let us go. It’s like they were protecting something there. They did their best to make the younger generation in the town scared of that place. However, their warnings just made us four curious.

We decided to go in the evening, just before sunset. We told our parents we were going out to celebrate, as we had just finished our final exams and we all did great and graduation was just around the corner. Anyway, we got there around six, not long before dark. The place was covered in bushes, vines painted the walls up ‘til the roof. We finally found the doors. They were old and rusty and it looked like something had tried to force its way out of it, they were bent outwards, the chains hung from the lock. This made us even more curious. We went in, turned on our flash lights and explored the place. It wasn’t that big, just your usual pool house. The pool and a locker room area. It looked like it was a community pool, where kids once went for swimming practice. As night fell, it was pitch dark and this eerie feeling filled the pool house. It wasn’t like this when we had arrived, the atmosphere changed. We went into the locker room area, there was nothing out of the ordinary, except there were bath robes, well, they didn’t seem like bath robes; they looked like thick black robes, kind of like what monks would wear. That was weird, what the fuck would that be doing in there? They looked pretty old, we tried to pick them up but they rotted so much they fell apart in our hands. We took pictures of everything. Sean and I left Kev and Kelly and went back out to the pool area. We were photographing the pool, there was water in it, weirdly, you would think that would’ve dried up? Anyway, we were taking photos when Sean noticed in the photos on the camera that through the murky dark water, there was something drawn at the bottom of the pool, some sort of symbol maybe? At the same time Kevin and Kelly walked back into the room and flipped a switch and all the lights turned on, like what the fuck, the lights were still working even after all those years. Now with the lights for a better view I stooped at the side of the pool to see if I could make out the symbol but the water was so dark and dirty. While I was stooping something rushed at my shoulder throwing me into the pool. Why me? The weakest swimmer. I tried to keep myself above the surface but I couldn’t, something kept pulling me under. My friends were yelling and calling out to me but after being under the surface for a while, I lost consciousness and I began to get a vision. It was of some ritual, taking place right here in the pool house. Kids, our age… being slaughtered by 3 people in red robes, like the black ones we found and around the perimeter of the pool were people in the black robes. They just stood there and watched at least 5 kids I could see get their throats cut and their blood drained in to the pool filled with water, the water was clear and I could see the symbol, no it wasn’t a pentacle, it was the outline of a ram’s head. The horns… a tongue sticking out... it was disgusting. I don’t remember anything after that. All I know is that Sean had pulled me out of the pool and I woke up with him and the rest of my friends trying to wake me in our car. They picked me up and got out of there as soon as he pulled me out of the pool. I told them about the vision and this made us want to find out the truth even more. Since there was kind of evidence that it could be true and I wasn't just going crazy, the robes and the symbol in the pool.

Since no one in town would talk to us about this we decided to do our own research. What we found out was disgusting. How could they? Our own parents and grandparents? They are all insane. They believed our town was cursed and the year all of those kids were born was a special year and this made them perfect for some sort of sacrifice to the devil to lift the curse off of the town. So they slaughtered those kids… with their bare hands… they watched it happen and no one did anything… they were merciless. Perhaps it was one of the spirits of the dead kids who pushed me into the pool to show me what had happened, either way we had to set them free. We weren’t going back home. It was almost graduation, we were gonna be leaving anyway. The only way to cleanse the evil and set those souls free would be to set that place on fire and so we did. We went back a few days later and burnt the place down, right after we left, left without saying anything. Their unsettled worries for us would be their punishment for what they did to those kids. The least of it.
