Blackness had taken over John's world. Emptiness kept John company. Quiet filled his hear, but yet it wasn't peaceful. Light started to squeeze through the small openings of John's eyes. His eyes fluttered open only shutting immediately from the sharp agonizing pain of the sunlight. John heard voice. A womans voice. Womens voice. He heard people. Friends. John tried once more to open his eyes, convincing himself that he couldtake the pain. As he opened his eyes slowly, he saw a beautiful image hoving over his face. Long straight brown hair hung around the face, the chest heaving up and down slowly, light blue eyes staring into his eyes, eyes that anybody could love. He rocogized this beautiful image as Sophia. All of a sudden sound filled his hears and the quiet was gone. Sounds of bugs flying around and leaves moving, sounds of controlled breathing and sighs of relief.
"Hello guys." John forced a smile.
"We thought you dead!" Linda exclaimed.
"But you're not." Sophia breathed the words and pushed a small smile.
"What happened?" John wondered.
"You don't remember?" Sophia asked.
"He has amnesia!" Mary Kay gasped.
"Shut up you!" Laura yelled at Mary Kay.
"Sorry." Mary Kay whispered.
"No, no I remember. I remember seeing this...this thing earlier today while riving..." Sophia cut him off.
"You...you saw it before and you didn't tell us? That is a pretty big piece of information." Sophia couldn't believe that John wouldn't warn them about something like that.
"I thought I was seeing things, I though I was just tired. You wouldn't understand." John tried to explain.
"Maybe I would have, if you had told me." Sophia looked hurt.
"So, what else do you remember?" Laura tried to get everybody's attention back.
"Oh, um I remember hearing things and going to check it out. I remember thinking it was nothing and then turning and around and realizing that...it was something. I remember the features of this creature. I remember it's horrifying breath stench. I remember the smell of sulfer...or, or, or something like that. I remember it lunging at me, trying to sink his teeth in my gut. I remember Sophia saving me. Thank you." Sophia nodded. " Then I remember walking out of the forest, seeing you guys. That's all." The group looked at him with sympathy.
"You don't remember waking up and telling us strange stories?" Linda asked.
"No, no did I? I don't remember." John was scared.
"That doesn't really matter now. We just need to know if you are okay." Sophia demanded.
"Yeah, I mean I feel a little weak, but I am good. I swear." He stared into Sophia's face.
"He needs a doctor Sophia." Laura said.
"Yeah. Okay. You need to go back. Somebody, if not all of you, should go back with him." Sophia said.
"What?" John was shocked.
"What?" Sophia was confused.
"I am NOT leaving yoU! You oughtta come with us then."
"I'm sorry, but I belive that is te creature that killed my parents and destroyed all y farm life."
"What are you going to do?" Mary Kay asked.
"I-I am going to track this thing down. I will hunt it. Take revenge. I don't know." Sophia shook her head.
"Then I will go with you." John demanded. He started to stand up and fell into Mary Kay's ams.
