The creature hadn't wondered far away from the tree that John and Sophia were in. it had only gone about fifteen feet away when John tried to escape from the tree. John had only gotten half way down and he was about to drop down to the ground, when the creature sprinted for him at full speed. Sophia pulled John up and the creature jumped up to try to catch him, but missed. The creature stared at Sophia with all the hunger in the world. The creature had caught a small animal. This was a mouse, but was the size of a shoe from all the radiation. The creature had blood dripping from the sides of it's mouth. Sophia and John hadn't lost much weight, it had only been two days. They did lose about a pound and a half though. They were starving and they were near desperate to get away from the creature, but more importantly the tree.
John and Sophia decided that they should make an attempt to escape. It was either risk your life an an attempt to escape, or to stay in the tree and starve. They wanted be known as fighters, not cowards. John told Sophia what they were going to do. Sophia nodded and they started to execute their plan. Sophia dnagled her legs over the tree and teased the creature by swinging them back and forth. The creature tried over and over to get a grab of Sophia's legs, but failed. While Sophia did that, John Climbed down the tree from the other direction. John fell to the ground and a loud thud erupted. The creature stopped and looked toward John direction. The creature started running at John, John tried to stand up, but it was too late the creature was already on John, about to take a bite. But before the creature could take a bite from John and booming sound erupted through the forest. The creature backed away from John. Before John could figure what was making that noise, the noise erupted again. The creature backed away again even further. The creature started to snarl. Soon many booming sounds made it too hard to even hear himself talk, John stood up and ran from the direction of the sound, creature and Sophia. The creature ran away after five minutes. Sophia had covered her ears as tightly as she could. The booming stopped. Sophia looked around and saw nothing, the tree was too far up to see below. Sophia saw no sign of the creature and started to climb down the tree. When her foot hit the ground she was surroundecd by men and women in black.
"Sophia?" Mr. Brash asked.
"Uh, yes." Sophia had no clue who these people were.
"My name is Mr. Brash and I am an agent."
"Who do you work for?"
"That's not important, what is important though is that I have finally found you."
"You were looking for me?" Sophia didn't want to admit it, but she felt pretty special.
"yes, this creature. You're hunting it. I was looking for you because of the death's of your parents." Sophia go the clue.
"I have it handled."
"Yeah, right. We just saved your life back there lady."
"Well, we have been fine up till now so."
"What about your friend. As she been fine up till now?" Mr. Brash said harshly.
"What."
"Your friend Laura was taken into the city by your good friend Mary Kay."
"Ha, hardly."
"Excuse me?"
"Mary Kay is no good friend of mine, she is a traitor."
"Yes, well Laura might lose her hand because of you."
"We had no other way! We were stuck here. She would have been dead by now."
"Would have probably been better than the condition she is in now."
"What is this some kind of rescue mission?"
