The drive to the hospital was filled with excitement and joy, but also frustration and worry. Mary Kay was so joyful that tyler had showed up, but she was worried for her friends life. Tyler was excited to see a familiar face, but was frustrated that it wasn't Sopia's.

When the group made it to the nearest hospital, Tyler jumped out and helped Mary Kay take Laura through the emergancy entrance. When they entered the receptionist looked over at them with wide eyes. The nurse pushed the call button and not minutes later people arrived with a gurney. The three nurses and one doctor took Laura and layed her on the gurney. They then rushed it to the further rooms down the halls.

Tyler and Mary Kay sit restlessly on chairs in the waiting room. Minutes had past without a single spoken word. Finally, Mary Kay couldn't handle the quiet. "So, what are you doing here?" Tyler's head turned at an awkward pace, towards Mary Kay's direction. He stared at her, thinking about what he might say. " I wanted to see Sophia." Mary Kay felt pretty bad at how this was going to turn out, she had just lost her friendship with Sophia, should she really be talking about Sophia with her own husband.

"Oh, why?"

"Well, we ddin't exactly leave on good terms."

"Oh I see."

"That's just the thing, you don't just see. Things were bad and I want to make them better. Have you seen her, Sophia I mean?"

"Oh, well. It has been a while."

"Why?"

"Just our differences."

"Mary Kay... What's going on?" Mary Kay sighed out of frustration. She didn't want to tell Tyler what had happened, because she knew that if she did, she would become the enemy.

"Tyler, Sophia and I had a disagreement when we were out there, in the forest. So, I left and she didn't like that idea."

"Wait what?"

"Sophia wanted to find the creature that killed her parents, so we all decided to join her. Well, a lot had happened and we saw a lot. Well, finally something pushed me to the limit and I left. Sophia was pretty ticked about it."

"What...Did you see exactly?"

"Exactly? Mutated animals. It seems like a nuclear substance went off and changed the animals appearance and behavior."

"Give me an examlpe." Tyler was interested and didn't exactly believe her yet.

"Well, the reason why Laura is here is because of a mutated creature. Some lizard had attacked us- Sophia, John , Laura and me. When the lizard was attacking Laura she touched it and Laura's hand started to burn."

"Burn?"

"The skin peeled off, blisters started to form."

"Eww. Gross."

"It hurt her." Mary Kay looked offended for her friend. "And they just left her there. Alone to die. You don't understand what happened out there." Mary Kay chocked on every word.

"What do you mean they left her. Who?" This time Tyler was concerned.

"I'm not too proud of what I did, but hear me out when I say, It was a good thing I did what I had to, or else Laura wouldn't be here right now. And maybe she won't make it out alive now. Maybe she will die today, tonight and it won't be anybody elses falt but theirs." Mary Kay had tears swelling up in her eyes.

Just then a doctor walked out from one of the closest rooms. He was about six feet, two inches, he had dark brown hair that reached his ears and had a muscular build. When he spoke he had a deep hispanic voice. He walked over to Mary Kay and Tyler. He told them ythat Laura had suffered great burn wounds and was surprised she didn't come in sooner. He informed the couple that Laura's body was grey when they had recieved her and now he had gotten it to a ghostly white. He said she was still unconcious and that she had lost minimal blood. He then expressed his concern. He said that she had lost some discharge and that the discharge was of the color black. He had never seen anything like this before. He said that he would do testing on the discharge and get back to them.
