The bright sunlight shone into the cave early morning, forcing John's eyes open. John winced from the bright light, even if he wasn't hurting so bad, the light would still hurt a great amount. John noticed that he was closer to Sophia than he had been last night. He faced Sophia only a foot or two away. He noticed her calmed breathing and saw a slight smile across her face. John sat up and noticed all the girls were calmly asleep. He stood up and threw his backpack on his back. John bent down and gently pushed Sophia awake. Sophia jolted up into a seated postion and looked around frantically. She saw that it was just John and she rubbed her eyes to wake herself up. She stood up and put her backpack on. John and Sophia then woke the other girls up and when they had the bags on their back, they made way for the dense part of the forest- where John got attacked by the creature and where the ginormous  snake tried to kill Sophia.

They walked from the cave and walked towards the dense part of the forest. The walked for ten minutes and then they were there. The entered and first searched for long wooden sticks. Sophia found two, John one, Mary Kay found a skinny brittle one, and Laura found the biggest and thickest stick. These sticks were large enough to knock out anything that came their way, as long as the man power was strong enough.

"Well, now what?" Mary Kay asked.

"Well, now we search." Sophia replied.

"What do we know what to look for?" Laura wondered.

"We know that it's victims are basically a pile of bones, so look for that. It's gross but necessary. Also listen for any crunching or stepping. It may sound like a humans, but be careful and find a place to hide. Listen, I have no clue what this thing can do besides sucking organisms dry. So, we have to try things out. What I am trying to say is that if you hear this thing , try to climb. You tried fighting it but obviously it was too strong. Kicking it and shoving it probably won't do much good. So, climb. Maybe it can't reach that high. Any other suggestions in trying to escape? Sophia asked.

"We have to find it's weakness." John declared.

"Hey, just a though, but what if this creature gave those animals the sickness." Mary Kay pondered.

"What do you mean?" Sophia wondered.

"The animals seem to have some kind of mutation. What if this thing like attacked them or something and gave it to them?"

"No that's not possible. He sucks his victims dry- humans and animals."

"What if this creature was something else and it got the mutation." John offered.

"Oh my. What if we could find out what kind of animal or whatever this thing was, then we could find it's weaknesses, we could find out what it used to be." Laura shocked herself by saying that.

"I wish there was a cure, to help these animals." Mary Kay whined.

"A cure?" Sophia laughed. "No, this thing deserves to die!"

"You're just saying that out of anger. Look at it from a different point of view."

"She's right Kay. This thing deserves to die." Laura mumbled.

"No!"

"Why are you so persistant in saving this thing?" John felt like something bad would happen soon.

"I don't know. Scientist could research on this thing, experiment even. They could learn the creatures ways, characteristics, maybe even tame it."

"You're crazy." Laura scoffed.

"No." Mary Kay shook her head.

"Shut up! Just Shut. UP." Sophia yelled. "Don't be stupid. This thing is after us. All of us, even you Mary Kay. Did you not see what happened to your friend? Did you not see what it looked like? It gets set on a target, once that target is finished he runs away. It's quite a smart way of doing things. Run away and disappear so that we have to find him."
