Why So Important?

That's it. He's had enough of this sick game.

Honestly? Taehyung doesn't want to make any more attempts. He was just trying to play it cool before, trying to do something harmful yet making sure there was a twenty-five percent chance it would fail.

In other words, he was purposely making his attempts fail. No way was he gonna take it seriously. Else he'd regret it and lose all will to live.

Now why is Jimin so important to him anyway?

Flashback

He was given the chance to feel like a normal boy by attending school, and at first he was excited to meet new friends and feel a different thrill and rush, other than holding weapons and going secret.

But he stood there alone, the bustle of students becoming too overwhelming.

How ironic - he was able to keep his head during dangerous situations but he can't focus when he was standing on campus.

What was wrong with him?

People didn't seem to care as they bump and brush by him, the boy just going with the flow until he collided with someone particularly hard and he fell.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" came a soft and high voice, a figure appearing to help gather his things.

But Taehyung didn't mind; he's dealt with bullets through his skin ever since he turned thirteen.

He looked up, the words on his tongue dying down as he's met with a soft-looking boy with chubby cheeks and dirty-blond hair.

"No it's okay. It's my fault since I wasn't looking," he says to try and soothe the other.

But he shook his head.

"No it's really my fault since I was just in such a hurry I didn't see you! Oh who am I kidding? You're taller than me and I-"

"Hey it's okay. Really it is."

They maintain eye contact before Taehyung's standing and offering a hand.

The other takes it to hoist himself to his feet.

"I'm Park Jimin."

Taehyung opened his mouth before abruptly shutting it. He's been given warnings to keep his real name and offer a fake one, but he didn't feel like obeying his superiors so like the rebel he is, he says his real name.

"Kim Taehyung."

End Flashback

That was basically how they met, Jimin running over him since he was such an idiot to just stand there in the middle of the crowded halls.

Coming to a life-changing decision, he steels himself for the many assaults he has to prepare for.

He discards everything related to the agency and throws on a casual shirt and pants while appearing discreet.

"Jungkook can you give me that person's file? I have to scan it again," an orange-head says distractedly to his co-worker, who just happened to pass by the table.

Jungkook complies and hands the folder wordlessly, Jimin going to work mode and finishing more than half of the assigned for the day.

Min Yoongi noticed the change and was impressed with the work, though he was slightly worried since Jimin might be overworking himself to the bone.

"Park can I have a word with you?"

Jimin instantly halts everything, momentum shattered as he blinks owlishly at his boss.

"Uh yeah sure."

He stands and follows the older, the door snapping shut to the office.

"Are you overworking yourself Jimin-ssi?"

Jimin's taken aback but he answers to the best of his ability.

"No sir I'm perfectly fine."

Was he, though? After all the mess he's been through?

Yoongi doesn't look the least bit convinced.

He sighs.

"You're a bright boy, Jimin, and the company's running smoothly ever since I hired you," he says, "You bring promise of prosper, and I thank you for that." He smiles a bit, but it fades. "I don't want to see you straining yourself because of work, nor do I want you to suffer such health problems because of starvation and all that."

"I'm eating, sir, and I sleep at least seven hours," insists the younger. His shoulders slump. "It's just that- something's been on my mind lately and I can't seem to focus."

He looks troubled, and Yoongi can see it plain as day.

"I'm giving you permission to rest up and take the day off."

Jimin's jaw drops.

He spluttered "But sir I'm fine! I'm okay and-"

"No other word. Clear your mind and go see nature or something."

Yoongi waves a dismissive hand, indicating the end of the conversation, and Jimin slinks away toward his office, sadly collecting his things.

One of the amazing things about Park Jimin is his aura, and everyone can feel it. If he's happy, it shows in his face and the mood shifts with his expression. His aura is powerful enough to make all those around him feel the emotion, and that's exactly what happened.

So when he stepped out, everyone noticed the change of mood, and they can't help but turn to the worker who was finished packing up by now.

"What happened hyung?" asked the ever-considerate Jungkook.

Sigh.

"Yoongi made me pack my things and take a day-off."

"Well, isn't that good?" tries another worker.

Jimin shrugged hopelessly.

"I was done for the day after all."

Kim Seokjin then shoots up from his chair to link arms with Jimin.

"Hey, since I'm done for the day too can I tag along?"

Jungkook frowns.

"You have to ask permission from Yoongi for that."

"Already did, bunny-boy."

The younger then brings a hand up to cover his mouth, eyes glaring at the one who dared mock his front teeth.

Seokjin even had the gall to wink flirtatiously.

Jimin scratched his bright hair.

"Well if you're done and Yoongi has no problem with it I suppose we could go," concludes Jimin timidly, still really not in the mood to just drop everything and leave.

Jin cheers enthusiastically, and drags the younger by the arm away from the dreary workplace.

"Should someone tail them?" suggests one.

"I'm sure they can handle it," Jungkook says, and all go back to work.

"Tail me."
