Stay Away From Him

Jungkook gapes, before his brows join and he pushes the man away from him, disgust written on his face.

"Aren't you hyung's boyfriend? What are you doing here?" He checks his watch. "Don't you have work tomorrow, Doctor Kim?" He rolled out the professional name off his tongue, mocking him since he didn't believe one bit that this guy was a doctor, much less a pediatrician.

His eyes narrow, and he goes straight to the point.

"Are you the one trying to kill Jimin-hyung?"

Taehyung, with his brilliant acting and quick thinking, was able to scoff and roll his eyes.

"Me? Kill my college best friend?" He crosses his arms, "What kind of idiot do you take me for?"

Jungkook glares at him.

"One stupid enough to kill mercilessly."

Taehyung's figure stiffened, and Jungkook knew he hit a sensitive spot.

"What do you know?" Taehyung's tone had gone from careless to deep and threatened. "Don't act as if you've been in on secrets since you were born. I know you're new to your agency, and I don't care if you're much closer to Jimin than I am."

"So you do admit you're the one trying to kill hyung?" he pressed again, "Tell me the truth, liar."

Taehyung's gaze was steely hard, and all he said was "You don't deserve to know anything."

Jungkook turns angry, and he grabs Taehyung's collar agressively, shaking it.

"If you ever go near my hyung again, I'll make sure you never see the daylight again."

Taehyung is just standing there with a cool expression, one side of his lips up in a smirk.

"Ooh I'm scared, agent Gold," he says mockingly, "What are you gonna do? Fling yourself in the middle of danger to act like a hero? Like the last time?"

Jungkook let go of him, eyes blazing.

"I knew it! You were the cause of everything: the explosions, the hole on our building, the knife..."

His doe eyes find Taehyung's cool gaze, and he's irritated by that because by choosing to stand there and listen, it's like Taehyung's admitting that everything was his doing.

"But I have to say," Taehyung starts, "I wasn't the one who exploded your building roof," he admits. He looks to the moon. "It was one of my co-workers."

Jungkook's eyes narrow.

"Even so, you're still targeting Jimin-hyung. Well guess what? I plan on staying by his side so you'll never succeed, and I'll make sure of that."

Taehyung snorts before leaning in real close to the brat's face.

"Better do your job right, since there's so much more I can do than throwing knives and spiking his drink."

With a harsh shoulder slam, he walks away.

And when Jungkook turns, he's alone in the alleyway.

He curses; he needs all the help he can get if he wants to accomplish his mission.

Kim Taehyung must not succeed.

Once he was on the road going home, his chest feels so much lighter.

At least Jungkook's there to protect Jimin from him. And that's enough.

Though Taehyung yearns to hold him and tell the truth, he can't since he's bound to his duty.

He wants so badly to spill everything, since his tongue can't take any more lies.

Jimin, please be safe. You can never be with me, and that's the only truth I know and consider.
