The cashier's eyes widen and Jimin is almost ready to run when there's a hand offering cash to her. Jimin looks instantly, eyes wide.
"Hi can I add in some strawberry frappe? I'll pay for us both. Thanks." The unknown guy throws in a wink to add for his charms, and the lady smirks slightly before leaving to prepare his order.
Jimin looks to the stranger, who becomes familiar the more he stares at his face. The guy stares back as well with big brown orbs.
"Kim Taehyung?"
"Park Jimin?"
They gape and ogle at each other before bursting into laughter, grabbing their respective orders and leaving the cafe while giggling.
The two have been college friends and parted due to their opposite fields of profession. As stated above, Jimin so badly wanted to be an accountant. He was interested in it ever since he was high school, and his passion hasn't diminished. Taehyung, well he remembered the boy wanted to take an arts course.
"Thank you very much Taehyung-ssi for paying," Jimin thanks sincerely. "I'll pay you back-"
"No need old friend," waves off the taller male, shaking his head. "I really was going to help the poor guy, but I didn't expect it'd be you," he smiles with a side-look to Jimin's cute profile.
Jimin smiles to himself, eyes on his lid. He taps his fingers on the side. "Well thank you anyway."
They walk aimlessly for a while before Taehyung's curiosity kicks in.
"What's happening to you now Wonder Boy?" Taehyung asks as he nudges Jimin's free arm. The latter giggles.
"What the heck weirdo? Where'd that nickname come from?" He giggled as he takes a sip of the hot drink. "Well I'm an accountant and I'm in love with my job very much. The pay is good and the people are friendly. What about you?"
Taehyung hums. Looking at him now, Jimin realizes he hasn't changed. He used to be such a rebel in school. Now, his clothes spoke volumes of just how much Taehyung was a free man. His hair was dyed a white-blond with pink at the sides, and he was wearing round spectacles.
"At first I wanted to be a photographer," he starts, licking his lips. A nod is his response. "Well, I eventually explored and found out that it was just a hobby."
Jimin's honestly surprised. "Seriously? Well then what's your work now?"
Taehyung grins. "I'm a pediatrician."
"Wow that's amazing," says Jimin happily, mouth stretching to show a genuine smile. "Unexpected but I'm still happy for you."
Taehyung chuckles slightly. "You're the first person to ever react so positively when hearing the news for the first time."
The brown-haired man's brows furrow. "What do you mean? Were your parents not supportive?"
He sighs. "At first they disapproved. But I really was interested in the field of pediatrics that I attended some school and I got good at it along the way. I interacted with kids and gave them lollipops, made them laugh and got to know them along the way. It's nice working with them."
The smile turns softer, the eyes gentler. "You do interact well with kids. I remember you patched up a kid's wound."
"Haha yes I do too. He smiled at me and even gave me his candy. He's doing good and is now my assistant," he proudly declares.
"Wow so amazing!" Jimin pats his shoulder. "You never fail to amaze me Taehyung-ah."
Taehyung smiles too. He sneezes.
"Aish why did you even buy a cold drink when the weather's cold right now?" Jimin admonishes. Yet he's smiling.
A laugh is his answer. "I don't do normal you should know that Park Jimin."
He offers his cup. "Well then have some so you can warm up."
Taehyung takes the offered drink anyway and sips. "Ever the kind man Park. You haven't changed."
"Same goes to you Kim."
Continuation continues from here thankss
