His feet is the only thing he can see, hands buried deep in his pockets as he waits for the bus to arrive.
A heavy sigh from something mechanic makes him look up, and sure enough it's the bus.
Smiling, Jimin walks up and finds a seat.
Unfortunately for this day, Jungkook called in sick. Well his fault since he decided to run around in the rain last night. Stupid kid. But he promised his mom that he'd buy him some soup and cough drop.
He plays with his phone as he waits for his stop, occasionally looking outside to see the view. Everyone's busy, walking to work, talking on the phone and whatnot. He doesn't know what to make of it.
The streets are spotless and clean, managed well by the sweepers and cleaners. The posts are upright and glossy, standing tall and proud amidst the busybodies and the trees, never deterred by any shift in nature.
Jimin misses the quiet life, back when he was still a child and his only concern was watching tv and playing with his friends and toys. Now he's older, living by himself in a nice neighborhood, surrounded by good families and loved by most of the elderly for his sweet manners.
Without realizing, he reaches his stop and almost wants to go back home the minute he sees a big crowd blocking the only entrance to the building. He's really not a fan of pushing past bodies just to get to work.
He's about to call for help when the clicking of shoes alert him to another presence. He turns to see Seokjin, smile in place and looking fashionable as always, even when donning just a suit. Seriously how does he manage that? Why does he look like a model while Jimin's left to look like a homeless person?
"I see we have a lot of fans," observes Jin, cool gaze landing on the throngs of people.
Jimin shakes his head in disagreement, small frown in place. "No hyung I don't think they're fans. But I really wanna finish this paper Yoongi gave me. Who knows, it might lead to a raise." He shrugs helplessly.
They share a quiet laugh before the older leaves to call out "Hey what's happening over here? Go back to where you came from we don't need any spectators!"
All of the people whiz to round on him, and protests were thrown immediately, Jin grimacing at the noise pollution all of them are creating.
"Alright people one at a time what's happening?" he cuts, feeling impatient.
"Your company building sports a large hole on the rooftop as we speak, and we're all reporters trying to get a scoop of this unusual phenomenon."
Both accountants were shocked at that. A large hole? How did that happen?
"Seeing as you both work here," starts another one. "Would you care to enlighten us?"
Jimin then says "Whoa who are you to suddenly jump on us like that? Did you see me hop off a bus a few seconds ago? Of course not but I can tell you that my co-worker and I have nothing to say to the public, let alone a statement since we weren't here to witness anything."
Jin nods vigorously in agreement, and then speaks again.
"So if you kind people would excuse us, we're going."
He grabs Jimin's arm and pulls them both inside, pushing through the crowd to finally reach the entrance that was sealed off with tape.
Jin rolls his eyes before ducking and striding forward purposefully, Jimin a stuttering mess behind.
"Boss where are you? Did you see the crowd that wants to destroy our faces?" Jin calls out, thumb pointing to the protesting crowd.
A heavy sigh followed by the clacking of shoes alert the two to a third presence, none other than Min Yoongi.
"I find," he starts, seething. "this place almost blown to complete pieces. There is a hole in the roof and I don't know what to do with it," he says slowly. He rubs his temples.
This was the first time their company experienced such a crisis. And Jimin was worried, feeling somehow that all this happened because he works here.
Peculiar things never happened before. There were no sudden shootings. There were no exploding keyboards. And there definitely wasn't a big crater before he left. So why now?
Why were all these things happening with no warning?
Maybe, just maybe, the cause was just closeby.
