"Uh hi," Jimin greets awkwardly, and he finally feels gravity again once he's set down on the-
"Seriously?"
The other two stop and stare at each other in bewilderment, wondering what they did wrong.
Before any of them can say anything else, Seokjin's loud voice pierces through the air yelling out "Get them! Hurry your useless big butts!"
Jungkook squints and tilts his head, trying to piece everything together. He's got a guess but he wasn't sure if it was right.
He looks to Jimin, and all he says is "I'll explain later."
With that reassurance, he and Hoseok leave, Jimin still not liking the fact that he was put in the very area where the garbage bags were placed. Garbage truck, seriously? Nothing else original?
"Get them, get them! Don't let anyone escape! Especially V and Jimin!" Jin was yelling as hundreds of heavy footsteps resounded on the hard ground.
"Namjoon drive drive!" the man named Hoseok was yelling, accompanied with two thumps on the side of the truck.
"Would you cut me some slack, whoever you are?! I'm trying to find out how to work the brakes!"
Jimin was still hopelessly tied to the chair, and he hasn't seen Taehyung yet. He was sure he was around here, he can feel his presence. But where was he?
All he could see was darkness, and he could feel the engine moving as the people up front tried to work their differences.
"Has anyone seen Taehyung?" he calls out, trying to work out his restraints.
▪️
Taehyung jumps out the passenger seat of the garbage truck, leaving Jimin to his fellow agents and entrusting Namjoon with the wheel. Now he has to find some information amidst all this ruckus, and his hands stop short on a brown folder before an unknown voice greets him saying "V."
Wait. Why did he know his codename?
He spins to be met with a rather handsome face, donning a nicely tailored casual suit and having shoulders as wide as his apartment floors.
But he did know the face. This was one of Jimin's co-workers. Why was he here?
"Oh no sir have you been caught too? Come with us."
Instead he was presented with a smirk, one that sent chills to run down his spine, and he instantly regretted his decision.
"Why don't you run along till the next time we see each other?"
A wave of nausea and sickening understanding fills Taehyung, going as far as to tickle the very tips of his fingers and toes.
He's felt a lot of things in his lifetime. Had tasted the bitterness of not being able to kill a target, had felt joy in adopting a stray cat, had been frustrated and jealous of one of his work buddies, and had a fleeting love affair during one of his missions in Tokyo. A lot of things, but not all.
He can't believe this. He just can't.
So this was the face behind his agency? The very big boss?
The one who instructed him to kill Jimin?
The smirk was replaced with a bored look in his eyes.
"You don't plan on leaving? I can kill you with just a snap of your head, V."
Taehyung's teeth grit together in anger, his fists clenching beside his thighs, but he keeps his cool and stares straight at the man's eyes.
Only, Seokjin wasn't looking at him.
His gaze was on the truck full of quirky people, weird in their own ways yet somehow working together to get out of this sticky situation.
He could hear Jimin's voice asking for his presence, could hear his fellow agents bickering over the wheel, could hear Namjoon's complaints and laments of not wanting to die yet among the sounds of his fellow agents trying to capture all of them.
"Jimin-ssi says he'll pay for it, and I've decided to keep a close eye on him for a while," Jin says coolly, as if he wasn't the administrator of everything. His eyes find Taehyung's own. "He's taught me a valuable lesson."
Taehyung's eyes narrow.
"And what is that sir, if I may ask?"
Jin's smile is wry, but his answer is firm and thoughtful. "We can't just keep killing off people for their bad deeds. If they're willing to change, then I guess we could give them a chance."
"Don't touch me with your stained fingers, moron!" came Namjoon's voice as someone grabbed his sleeve.
"Taehyung are you there?" sounds Jimin's high pitch.
A couple of agents roughly manhandled him, and his blood pounds and rushes throughout his whole body, ready to pounce if his safety or his friends' safety was threatened.
"No, let go of him Agent Chan," Jin commands exasperatedly, waving his hands in a shooing gesture.
Park Chanyeol blinks owlishly before looking over to his partner, Agent Bam, and letting go.
"The rest of you, leave them alone and get back to deskwork!" Jin yells again, his voice resonating off the walls and reaching the ears of many, eliciting their heads to turn and obey their boss without question.
Lalisa, aka Agent Lali, shoots Jungkook a flirtatious wink before slapping high-fives with her boss, giving V a nod of acknowledgement and disappearing with the rest of her fellow agents.
Namjoon breathes hot and heavy before asking the five "Where's the bathroom?"
Jin could only slap his forehead.
"We don't have bathrooms in warehouses, you ignorant man."
Ayyy thanks for rdg this crap!
