Anamika's POV
As I woke up I felt a little comfortable not like the past week where I was feeling tired as if I was roaming the whole night.
I dressed up casually and went to the clinic. Anwar promised me he would meet me at my clinic and yet he wasn't here.
"Searching for someone?" I heard a voice
"Abhimanyu! " I said smiling
Abhimanyu was a senior psychologist at the clinic. I was his assistant
Abhi and Anwar were childhood friends until one day while playing truth or dare Abhimanyu admitted having a crush on me. They've been arch rivals ever since.
"You look tired Anu. Aren't you sleeping?" He asked
"That's the problem. I sleep the whole night and more frequently but still I'm tired" I said
"That means you're sad. What is troubling you so much Anu?" he asked looking into my eyes
You are!
I began hearing the voice again
I looked around and still there was no one. I was imagining things maybe
"I don't know Abhimanyu" I said
"So who're you looking for?" He asked his arms in his pocket
"I'm looking for someone special-" I said
"I'm right in front of you" he said grinning.
Lame! I heard the voice again
"No no Abhimanyu I meant Anwar" I said
"What's up with the two of you? You're lingering around together a lot more than usual!" He remarked his tone giving a hint of surprise.
"We are together" I said without any hesitation when he grinned at me
"Lucky him" he said.
"How are things going with you?" I asked
"Yeah they're going good. What about you?" He asked me when another voice interrupted our conversation.
"There's a problem-"
"Anu!!"
"Anwar! I've been waiting for you since so long" I said as I ran up to him as if he was the north pole of a magnet and I was the south pole.
"Sorry I got late. I had to speak with my workers regarding something." He said as he paused.
"Abhimanyu. Hi" he said sarcasm evident in his magical voice.
"Hi Anwar. Anu I'll meet you later" he said walking away.
"He's the opposite of friendly as in unfriendly and by that I mean don't be friends with him" Anwar said giving Abhi a gaze.
"He's nothing more than my boss."I said as he hushed me with his finger.
"Well I love you" he said caressing my hair.
"Yeah I love you too but then I love coffee more but yeah I definitely love you" I replied.
"Ok Miss Bose. Time for the surprise. I'm going to meet Veer Kapoor. Your favorite cricket player." He said
"Oh my gawdddddd!" I said screaming like a fangirl.
"Anu! You don't love him more than coffee do you?" He asked me with a Stern expression
"I don't love anyone more than coffee Mr Anwar Afzal. But yes I don't love him as much as I love you" I replied as he hugged me.
"I'll see you after work. Bye. Take care" he said as he left.
I walked into the cabin and saw Abhimanyu reading some random book.
"No appointments today?" I asked as I sat down
"Actually had three but I don't know why they didn't turn up." He said his gaze still fixed in the book.
"You know the reason Abhimanyu. People think they're mad if they are consulting a psychiatrist." I said in a matter of fact tone
"And their opinion doesn't affect me" he said still not looking at me.
"If you're free I need a help Abhi..."
"Sure Ask away" he said putting his book aside finally.
"I want you to run a minor test on me and check if I'm alright. I'll explain everything to you later" I said as he nodded.
"You're sure about this?"
"Yeah totally"
"Fine close your eyes and relax. Relax every single body part and keep your mind calm. The only thing you have to focus on right now are my words." Abhi said as I felt being pulled into a trance
And again everything went black.
Veer's POV
I was going insane.
It's been two days since I met Samara.
Her absence was killing me. It made me feel so incomplete.
I thought I'd search for her at the place after the interview.
But the interviewer was late.
"Mr Veer Kapoor. Apologies for being late. My reporter had gone missing the last minute." I heard a voice.
"Mr Afzal! I wasn't expecting to see you come over though" I said shaking hands with the owner of the most famous monthly magazine - The Talk Trends
"Well tell me something about that reporter then" I said taking a seat.
"She worked anonymously. We only spoke to her over email and phone but never met her personally. But her works were flawless. So we couldn't deny the offer of letting her work for us. She always does the work but we never get to see her. She's I don't know some kind of a magician" he said sighing.
Magician? That just reminded me of Samara again!
"Oh quite weird" I said "don't you have a profile or something?"
"Of course we do sir. She works as an RJ at 95.3 FM as well. Her name is Samara-"
"Samara?" I asked surprised.
"Yes sir." He nodded.
"I know someone with the same name
Also she works as an RJ. And is a journalism student" I said recollecting the facts I knew about her"Could be we both have someone in common then" he said and I nodded
Few minutes later the interview was done. It was formal, short and crisp.
"Thank you once again" I said
"It was an honour meeting you Mr Kapoor. But I need another favour "
"Yeah please.."
"My girlfriend is a huge fan of yours. Can I get an autograph?" He asked as I smiled and gave it to him gladly.
"What is her name?" I asked signing the paper.
"Anamika" he said giving a broad smile.
"May you guys stick together against all odds." I said wishing him luck.
"Thanks Mr Kapoor" he said taking it.
"Mr Afzal in case you meet Samara or get in touch or contact with her please do ask her to message me" I said as he nodded and left.
Where are you Samara?
If you really wanted to leave why did you enter my life?
I only left the place with one thought in mind.
There was something special between us. No one stays so close to the heart even in their absence
