"Oh my god are you two still arguing?""I'm just saying that I'd be the cool mom and Blake..."
Blake narrowed her eyes.
"I dunno. I get the bedtime at 9 pm vibe from you, just sayin' love."
"Right."
It was later in the day, Nora, who was bestowed with the honor to watch the unmarried married couple argue. Again.
-and on the announcement day no less. Ah, announcement day. The day Nora and Ren tell the rest of the unrelated family that another member will be added in nine months. As you can guess, Ren is a soft spoken guy so Nora would have to anxiously take the reigns. She was never really a shy person but this topic never failed to make her fidgety.
It was a lot of pressure just saying it but actually having to care and nurture a child was a whole different story.
Nora herself felt both excited, terrified and nervous. She had no clue what to say or more so how to say it. She differently didn't even know where to
start when nine months fly by and the big day comes.Blake and Yang both sat on the couch in the entertainment room upstairs, waiting for the others and fighting at the same time.
It was always accurate to say Mister Jacques Schnee was loaded; loaded with Weiss' family's money that he into, of course.
The entertainment room was somewhat like a theatre, it had a comfy black leather couch, a couple of matching theatre-like love seats and a giant projector screen hanging behind a table. The table the screen hung over was fit with 3D holographic technology that was used many times for missions. A fun fact about it is that it was a gift from the mayor, which wasn't surprising considering they were popular huntsman.
Every-time Qrow left they had to sneak around for money. Money was getting tighter and tighter ever since Weiss' daddy recently cut off the big bucks.
Long story short, she did not approve of the Schnee Dust Company using overworked and underpaid faunas for manual labor that wasn't fair at all. They were segregated and treated differently from human employees and Weiss felt that they should be paid more, have longer breaks and treated fairly.
Most of them don't have enough Lien to just quit, they needed it for their families. No matter how much their blood, sweat and tears were put into it, it didnt matter how their fingers bled and body ached it was either work yourself to death or quit and inevitably starve to death. Just like their ancestors before them.It was wrong, and this is exactly the type of thing Blake fought against. Its the type of thing that helped aide in Adam becoming no better than those racist humans; a monster. He was lionized for helping the faunas community when in reality he was just giving humans more reasons to hate them.
The news about the SDC infuriated Blake. Weiss could do nothing but empathize and let her know she at least tried. She tried and now they had no stable source of income.
Blake may have been upset at Yang at first but watching her work her ass off for her sister, Blake and barely for herself she still appreciated it. Yang still thought she was mad and so she tried her absolute best to change that and absolve herself.
The fight they were having now wasn't even really a fight, more like a debate that had no real anger in it. The only anger Blake had was for the SDC and whoever the hell had that camera that started the previous feud in the first place.
