Cassiopeia Walburga Black despised vampires, no doubt about it. There was no sympathy in her heart for the malicious beasts. Beasts that dared to go after the innocent and only fighting battles with people that had no chance.

It was something drilled into her from a young age. And with most other things, she complied. Cassy devoured every piece of information her parents fed her, starving for knowledge. However, Cassy was slowly beginning to see the lies in their words. For they had said the same thing about werewolves, muggleborns and squibs.

Stefan was no exception to this rule, neither was the new vampire that had made a dramatic appearance to the Salvatore Boarding house.

"Morning. Caitlin, right?" He had interrupted her reading.

Cassy glanced up at the Raven haired man. He had a smirk on his face, looking at the girl with an amused glint in his eye. His lean build lazily leant over the island, positioned to be looming over Cassy's form.

Now this vampire, Cassy could imagine him ripping into the necks of innocent victims. She would bet anything that he was the cause of the new 'animal attacks'.

"Cassiopeia," she corrected dryly, her eyes flickering between the new vampire and Stefan. Honestly, she would pick Stefan any day over who ever this man was.

"Oh, my apologies. I'm Damon, it's a pleasure to meet you," mockery dripped from his voice.

"My brother," Stefan added on. His stance was stiff and Cassy could see his clenched jaw.

"Right." She gave the fakest smile she could manage.

Cassy carefully closed the book in front of her and stood up, that was enough vampiric interaction for the day. Stefan didn't move an inch, but Damon waved his fingers as a wave.

Cassy sat, curled up, on the couch. Once again, reading a book. Zach wanted her to be more in tuned with muggles so she was reading 'The Muggle Conspiracy'. Probably not exactly what he meant considering the book contained masses amount of propaganda and discrimination against muggles and muggleborns alike. But it was one of the only books about muggles she could find in a local wizarding book shop.
