Being the only child to my beloved mom and dad is really a blessing to me. I love my father Mr. James Harris and mother Mrs. Amanda Harris, but I love my mom more. Going to a picnic, visiting grandparents Mansion, going on tours, along with my mom and dad... my life goes on like this. I'm living a happy life. Even though I am eight years old, a big boy, I'm cute and a little boy to my mom forever. My name is Nick, Nicky Harris. My biggest strength is my mom... my weakness too.

Every day, without listening to a bedtime story I won't sleep. My mom tells me that for everyone there will be a guardian angel. For me, she is my guardian angel. She tells me daily fairytales before I go to bed. I really like those stories. She feeds me, cares me, kisses me, hugs me.......that's why I love my mom.

Today is my birthday. I think mom is going to give me a surprise. She has taken me to the toy shop and bought me a doll, It is a beautiful fairy.

"Many more happy returns of the day my dear, big boy" presents the Fairy doll to me with her pleasant smile.

"Thank you, mom" I took the doll with sparkling eyes of mine and hugs her.
I feel so happy about my mom's unrequited love and care.

I don't like to go to my grandfather's mansion. But my dad and mom are going, so I have to. My grandfather lives in a mansion along with my aunt, Uncle, and their two daughters and a son. I don't like any one of them except their son that is my cousin, Max. He is my age and I like to play with him. His sisters, oh God! very naughty, horrible, and not at all friendly to me. Whatever it is, I have to meet them.

"Hello, Grandpa! How are you?" I have greeted him.

"Fine. Happy birthday Nick. May God bless you", grandfather has wished me and blessed me by laughing.

After all, everyone has wished me and I have replied, now I'm going to play with Max. He is waiting for my arrival.

"Hi, Nick. Happy birthday", with full of happiness he has presented me a 3 in 1 game board.

"Thank you, Max. You are my true friend." I put my hand on his shoulder and he did the same on me.

I'm impressed to my cousin's love towards me, and also I am full, without eating food because I am celebrating my birthday with my whole family even though I don't like everyone of them.

After celebrations, now we are going to our home. My father is driving the car and my mother is holding me in her lap, looking outside through the car window. Her smile is like the bright moon. It's winter night. Though I'm not wearing a sweater on me, my mother's warmth is enough to keep me warm. Her heartbeat became a lullaby to me and I fall a nap. As usual, I'm listening to my mom's narration of a fairytale. Lying on my bed and holding the fairy doll in my arms, I feel I am falling into sleep, very deep and deep. But still, I can feel my mom's scent. How much I feel I know my mom, that much I feel that something is strange with her. "Why?" I too don't know. Suddenly, I see my mom through my half-opened eyes. I can hear her sayings, "My dear sweetheart, close your eyes, and sleep tight." I can't help myself except obeying her because I am her good boy.

The next day morning, I'm heading downstairs to see my mom in the kitchen with drowsy eyes to check what she is preparing today for me? But, she is not there. I start searching for my mom everywhere at my house but, mom is missing. My father alone is dropping me to school now. What's going on? Even after school, I have been waiting for my parents especially for my mom but my father alone comes to take me. For the first time, I'm going home without my mom. I'm feeling tired of my father's silence. I don't know with whom I have to tell my feeling, except to myself. I'm left alone to suffer. "Let's ask dad about my mom once we reach home." I have told to myself helplessly by looking outside from the car window.

"Go to your room, Nick. Start doing your homework. I have already placed your snacks in your room. About supper? Let's go to your grandfather's house" has said very feebly.

My father's words are not at all satisfying me. "Dad?" wistfully I called him by dragging my father's shirt back, "Where is mom?" He remains silent.

I am surprised to see him kneeling before me with inadequate expression and hugging me tightly. I can't understand what he means... except I can only ask him again and again about mom.

Stroking my hair, "She will come soon, Nick." He replies.

"How much time 'soon' means dad? I am tired of waiting".

My father's eyes look helpless. I keep on praying to God and ask my angel fairy doll to send my mom to me very soon.

For the last two days, I have not been sleeping well, because I miss my mom. My dad is really busy these days. Whenever I ask my father about mom, I feel his words are unconventional from his expression of eyes. My dad's silence is really killing me. Today, I am not going to eat anything until I see my mom. I really miss my lovely mom.

I start screaming and continuously ask my dad, "I want to see mom badly."

I am sobbing like anything in the living room, sitting on our soft coach but my father is communicating on the phone in his room. I can discern my father through a half-opened door bothering about something. He is feeling tense and nervous. He rushes out suddenly and takes me to the hospital with me.
