49. Nepenthes Is A Captive, Now?

"Uh? Haha, Jasmine?" Mom moves to Jas while she's stepping out from the mansion along with Cham to join the party at the lawn.

"Yeah! Mrs. Angela?" She responds and halts.

"Here is a present for you," mom gives her a dress bag as a gift.

"Mrs. Angela? Why so... suddenly..." Jas is surprised.

"Yesterday, your uncle and I crossing a mall, he noticed this dress, felt very attractive, and brought it for you. He really likes you very much", mom says with a pleasant smile.

"But..." While Jas is speaking, mom says, "Don't hesitate to take it. Just a present from your uncle", she places the dress in Jas' hands and insists her to change. Jas nods in response.

"Cham? You go to the lawn. I'll come", she commands him sweetly and leaves back to her room by smiling. Cham heads to the party and meets Hopper and bug, who is there with Lily and Violet.

After a few minutes, Mom has noticed, when Mr. Jackson has entered. She has stepped towards him straight, in the meantime, two servants have called her all of a sudden. "Ma'am, the cake is ready". "Okay, great", while she's talking with the servant, she has observed, his ploy. How he has stopped a servant, hypothesized with an oscillating ball, and mixed something in a drink... everything. She has started suspecting him.

"Look! You go and arrange the cake, tell to sir James, call his father. I'll join you shortly." Mom assigns work for them and turns to Mr. Jackson. "Uh? Where did he go?" She mutters and quests for him everywhere. Finally, she spots out Mr. Jackson having a drink at the party in the lawn. Mom stands a bit far to his back, and his smirk led her to feel more dubious. She just follows at his gaze and astonishes to see the scene that, his hypnotized servant offering a drink to me.

"No, Nick. What's his intention exactly?" Mom tries to wave and signal me calmly behind him, to not get any doubt on him. But I don't see her. She sends a little boy to call Mr. Jackson and distract his continuous monitoring on me. So that, she can avoid having a drink by me.

"Max? Your Aunt, what's she observing at?" Rose doubts while touching her elbow at the ribs of Max.

"Yeah", he takes a glance along with Rose and notices Mr. Jackson's evil smirk at me. She closely observes his lip moment. "No...Now, Prin...Princess turn to...lose her stone", Rose utters while glancing at him. Immediately, she rushes to me. By the time, Rose reaches me, I just take a sip. Meanwhile, that child pulls Mr. Jackson with his coat. He discontinues his gaze at me and looks at the child. At that same time, Rose holds my hand and twists. The drink in my hand spills down from the glass. When Mr. Jackson looks at me, Rose normally stands beside me and smiles at Dany. Mr. Jackson smiles after looking at the empty glass in my hand.

Rose comes almost near to my cheeks and says, "It's a move by Mr. Jackson. Pretend as I say", she hints me for what purpose he has done this, slowly. Meanwhile, a crowd covers the gap from us to Mr. Jackson. Rose utilities this moment. Since I have taken a sip anyway, it leads me to feel hot inside, uneasy, and thirsty all of a sudden. Rose advises me to dilute the solution with water first. So I drink water immediately. Looking at all, Mom relaxes after seeing me alright.

Max diverts Mr. Jackson in this meantime by sending Mr. & Mrs. White along with Ms. Grace to talk with him. And he comes to mom.

"What's going on here, Max? Who the hell is he? Why he targeted my child?" Mom becomes anxious.

"Aunt! I can understand if one's brother trying to harm his nephew..." Max realizes he's slipping his words and swallows the remaining words.

"Brother? Nephew?" Mom retains with a questionable expression.
