He Helped Me

'I thought I burned this.' This is from my very suicidal past.

'I thought it was behind me.' I was doing so fine, but this just brings back all the reasons to want to do it again.

This note was from 6th grade. I remember exactly what happened. My parents got into a fight, Coco got really sick, my brother was moving away, I was never getting along with Iris and I didn't have much friends to talk to. I felt alone. I was so close to doing it that time but I didn't.

'Now that I think of it, Why did I not do it?'

I looked on the back to see if there was more and it was a drawing of me and Coco. It was really good too. One of my friends who knew how to draw must have done it. I looked at the drawing in complete awe. Maybe this was the reason. Then it hit me.

I was in my room chilling and I was writing it down, when he sneaked up behind me. I had my headphones in so I didn't hear anyone come in.

'Athena what you writing?' asked Jake peering on my paper.

'Nothing.' Then I quickly flipped the paper over.

'Wait. How did you even get in here?'

'Well your mom let me in and you look sad here let me draw something for you.' He took the paper and moved on my bed. So I got up and went on my bed to. Coco was on there already so I moved her so her head was on my lap while I sat criss-crossed and leaned on the headboard. Jake sat across from me and started drawing on the blank side. He was there for a while drawing then erasing then drawing and erasing. When he showed me it was of me and Coco. I got happy then folded it in my hoodie.

'Thanks Jakey. You don't even know how much I needed that right now.' I gave him a hug. Then we went to his house since we were about to have a sleepover there.

That picture helped a lot. I don't know how but it did. I'm happy he drew that. I hope he hadn't seen this.

'If he did then he would've asked me about it right?' I've been up here for a while let me go back to the basement. I walked down to the basement and Jake and Sebastian are in a heated make out session. I walk up quietly so they won't stop.

"SO WHAT YOU GUYS DOING!" As soon as I yelled Jake jumped and fell off the couch. I bust out laughing. Sebastian was blushing hard and tried to fix himself to make it seem like nothing happened.

"Athena i'm gonna beat you ass." He got up and jumped over the couch to try to get me but i dodge him. I try to run upstairs but since he is faster than me he grabs me and we start fake fighting.

I won obviously. Kidding. He beat my ass so bad. Now he is sitting on me.

"Now you gotta promise to not do it again."

"Get your fat ass off of me. I can't breathe." He is crushing me.

"Say it first."

"Never."

"Oh well then." So I stopped moving. I was gonna play dead so he could get up.

"Come on, Athena. Playing dead are we?" He got up but as soon as his weight lifted he started tickling my sides. Knowing damn well I lose my shit and I did. I started laughing and screaming. Trying to squirm away from him.

"Now say it and i'll stop."

"I'll never say it." I try to say in between laughs. He stopped and moved away grumpy.

"Your so stubborn, but i'll just do it when I see you and Demain kissing." Bet bitch.

"Bet. has it been 30 minutes by the way?" He looked at the t.v.

"Yeah, why?"

"I'm gonna see in my mom is home. So i'll go check. I'll take Coco too."

"Athena just use my phone to call her." Oh shit I forgot other people have phones too. He handed me his phone and I called.

Ring. Ring.

Ring. Ring.

'Hello?'

"Mom you home yet?"

'I've been here since you left.' Wait what?

"But your car wasn't there and when I knocked no one answered."

'The car is in the garage and I was napping. Sorry sweetie.'

"It's okay. I'll be on my way back. I went to Jake's house when you didn't answer."

'Okay.' Then I hung up.

"She's home now so i'll be going and thanks." I gave Jake his phone back and gave him a hug, also a hug to Sebastian.

"This shyness you have is adorable." He started blushing again and I laughed. I turned around and grabbed Coco's leash. Jake followed me out to lock the door.

"Oh Athena, his shyness is adorable." AWWWWW!

"You really like him. Good. So don't do anything stupid." Then he chuckled.

"I won't. Bye Athena."

"Bye Jakey." Then I left to go home.

I got home and knocked this time my mom actually answered.

"Welcome back. Wait weren't you wearing different clothes."

"Oh yeah. I changed at Jake's house. Found some of my old clothes."

"Oh okay. I'm not cooking dinner so what you want to eat today?" Umm. What do I want?

"Don't you think we should include IrIs?"

"Nah. She gets here at 8 so she'll at her friends house." Oh.

"Can we go to Red Lobster? We haven't been in a while."

"Sure, you can go change first tho. We are not going with you looking like that." I giggled and went upstairs. Soon as I get to my room I check my phone, and there is only 1 text from Noah. It says it 30 minutes ago.

'What u doing?'

"Just came from a run about to go eat with my mom at red lobster."

'Can I come to?' I went out my room and yelled.

"MOM CAN NOAH COME TOO?"

"YEAH BUT HE NEEDS TO BE HERE IN 8 MINUTES!" Yay.

"U can come but u need to hurry, we leaving in 5 minutes."

'Say no more i'm already at your door.'

"Really?"

'Nah i'm getting ready i'll be there in 5 minutes'

"K see u then"

I got off my phone and got dressed. It felt really good outside when I went on my walk. Maybe a dress or skirt. I went to my closet and looked through.
