"yes... thanks for deciding to meet me at the right time,"

-

"then, i hope you didn't take me out in the first place if you're going to act like this."

i slowly stepped backwards as i already had enough eavesdropping, but the curiousity filling up. i then twisted my body to rush back to the door when i heard footsteps coming near, but instead, my head bumped onto someone's chest.

i looked up to see sungwon looking down on me with confusion written on his face. "what were you doing?" he asked.

"nothing," i uttered while chuckling.

he started walking towards the edge of the wall as i pushed him back to stop him. in a glimpse, i saw a smirk written on his face as he tried pushing me to get away.

"you're not going there!" i exclaimed. it would get awkward if we just barge in there while they were havinga serious talk.

"i am!" he laughed as he trapped me between his arms, placing his hands on the wall beside me.

"hey, i'm trying to save your life from the possible awkward atmosphere if you barge in there!" i playfully said as i tried getting out from his self-made "cage" by his arms trapping me.

"oops," he uttered as his hand slipped on the wall, causing him to stumble down on me with his other hand securing on pressing it on the wall beside me.

he stared at me for a moment with his face near mine until i saw a figure standing near us. i snapped my head towards the direction that made sungwon look at it too with the same awkward position we had.

it was renjun staring at us with his expressionless face. areum then came afterwards that made her gasp.

"oh, sorry for disturbing you guys," she lifted her hands up.

sungwon and i looked at each other's eyes before realizing, and stood up properly. "h-hey it's nothing from what you're thinking," i chuckled while waving my hands infront of me.

"y-yeah, we were just playing around, really," sungwon added.

"ooh," areum scoffed. "with your faces so near, you two sure are playing around," she chuckled with her hand covering her lips, obviously teasing.

"h-hey..." i smiled bitterly.

i bored my eyes to renjun to see him on his phone. i felt sungwon's hand on my shoulder as i traveled my eyes to look at him staring down on his watch.

"i think we better go home now," he suggested that made all of us agree.

"i guess this is where we will part ways," areum said as she stepped out the train. "bye guys, thanks for the time! i had fun with you."

it took a few minutes before it was time for sungwon to get off the train, leaving renjun and i together. we are in the same neighborhood, which means we'll be heading home in the same way.

the both of us were silent the whole time, and didn't bother to start a conversation although i was dying to ask about what happened between him and areum earlier. all we did was to play with our phones in the train.

by the time we got off the train, i was expecting for him to walk ahead, or walk behind just so we can't be walking together. as soon as we stepped out from the train station, i decided to ask him if he was going to part ways with me.

"why? we live in the same neighborhood," he shrugged his shoulders that made me nod in agreement. i just thought it would be awkward if we keep doing this. i guessed i just have to start a conversation on the way to my house.
